Is college or career training a money-making scheme? Read my question.?

Why do career programs, colleges, universities, do it this way:

At the age of 18, when you have little life experience to go by, you are supposed to decide upon a career or job you THINK you might like, then you enroll in a school, pay all this money to attend, you learn about the career in THEORY by taking Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology etc., then at the end of your schooling, you finally get to actually TRY the job or career itself by doing an internship or practicum, but by that time you might have figured out that it’s not for you. You do this with only 18 years of experience of being on this earth which mainly included sitting in a public classroom since kindergarten, and hanging out with your friends, and doing sports.

Why don’t we allow people to try working in the field FIRST, and then if they like it, they can enroll in school.

They say more and more Americans are working a second job or have ways that they make a second income via a sideline business or other money making scheme. How about you? Do you have a second job or sideline business that gives you additional income over your regular full time gig? What is it and how much do you make?

After seeing one of Anthony’s infomercials on a cable TV
station in April 2010 I thought I would try to find out
more about it. Since most money making schemes hawked mainly
through infomercials are scams, I had no doubt that Hidden
Millionaires fell into this same category.
I was contacted and after much pain agreed to the program. It was $6330.00 for a system to buy ad words to generate leads for companies. And you are told
you have to buy the system then and there – you aren’t
given a few days to think about it. I was told all about millionaires making money after accounts are
set up. After being told all I had to do was do the work I bought
now i want my money back and to close the business I started while going through the plan.
The Tax Club also called me and set up an S corporation they have my credit card numbers and are sharing them. I closed the accounts. HELP

What is wrong with this make work scheme for America ?

Will her crazy plan work?

One of my friends who is always coming up with money making schemes says her next one is going to be going to places like amusement parks and malls and going to the lost and found and pretending she lost her wedding ring or other jewlery. She says she’l give a common description and then say she was all over the place that day and doesnt know when she lost it. She says when they show her the rings fitting her description she’ll pick the most expensive looking one, say its hers, and turn around and sell it. Could she possibly be onto something?

I`m only 12 years old, so a job is out of the question. i have tried ebay, over and over, but every time i get close to putting something up to bid, ebay says they are having technical issues. How to make money if you are 15?

Alright, I am in DESPERATE need of money right now. I need so many things that my family can’t afford and quite frankly, neither can I. I am getting my drivers license in 2 months when I turn 16, I will be driving 12 miles to school every day because I do not have any other transportation. Luckily, I am getting a free truck but I still need to pay for registration, tax, gas, maintenance, smog tests, etc. That is hundreds of dollars right there. The truck is almost 30 years old, the guy is giving it to me just to get rid of it. It still works though.

I need clothes, a new cell phone (I’ve had mine for 5 years.) because I couldn’t afford a new one, and many more things.

I live in LA which is a big city, I doubt you could find a paper route that would pay however much money I need. I would mow lawns but I do not have the equipment to do so. I don’t really know who I would babysit nor do I have experience with young children (I am the only child.) Opening up a lemonade stand is not only childish, you won’t make more than $3 a day anyways.

I am looking for a job that could possibly pay up to $1000/month. I do not need a steady job, I just need to reach the goal to make $1000 in 1 month or less because I have different methods for making money once I have the $1000.

I am willing to do online ad referrals and website traffic exchange but I have no idea where to begin. I do however, have an active and verified paypal and checking account.

I would look for a job, but there is only 2 1/2 weeks left until school starts. I need a fast method. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I Hate my Dad… I need to rant…?

I’m just expressing my feelings towards my Dad, and do not expect an answer, just ranting.

Basically, I am 16 years old, and HATE my dad. He makes everything awkward, and is the biggest deucebag I know, and trust me, I know a lot. For one, he keeps all of the family’s money in a bank account, and DOES NOT allow my Mom to access it. She has a seperate account, which he literally gives her an “allowance” for gas, food, etc. The necessities. He makes more than 160k a year, yet we still can barely afford food, etc. I have no idea where the money goes. He has all of his mail forwarded to his office, so NO ONE can see what he spends it on. He goes to the sport’s bar, which is a recent obsession, and drinks a TON. He think’s it’s “cool”. And ignores the family. This is just the beginning.

So basically, he doesn’t give ANY money to my Mom, or anyone in the family, and he makes good money, yet we have none. Last month, I was helping him on the computer, and was showing him how to save a print screen picture, when in the pictures folder, had all of this hidden porn, my Mom, was there too. I pretended to not see this, but it was quit sad. On my birthday, he was suppose to pick me up, and bring me to the bank, when he stopped at the sports bar. BTW, he’s gaining weight. Which I told him I did not want to do, but he ignored me. And kept me there for 3 hours. He complains to me about how he eat’s the same food’s as I do, yet gains more weight. I am active, and don’t spend all day looking at fucking porn and drinking and eating food. He eat’s easily double the amount of food I do. He’s creepy too, he will watch tv show’s with my younger sister, who is 12, and literally watch it just to see the fucking girls.

He’s starting to make sex jokes, and talk about how sexy some women are, and point them out to me in public. I’m his fucking son for crist sake, and he’s fucking married. Just this weekend, he was picking me up from my friends house, when he eases off the gas and stares to the left, at this blonde chick with big boobs. It’s fucking gross to see him do that. Worst part is, he doesn’t think I notice it. He will be like “look at that rack on that girl”. I fucking hate his guts. He will stuff his face for 6 months, and gain a lot of weight. And then spend probably thousands on “fasting” and getting colonics done, and other bull-shit.

He spends NO time with me anymore, thankfully. Everything about him, I hate. I hate being around him, seeing him, etc. On their computer, I spent hours getting rid of a virus that dug itself into the registry (which was probably from the porn he watches). You have to understand, my moms entire business was on the pc. I get it fixed, and my mom and I wanted to back up the data, when he refused to. 4 days later, he fry’s the computer, the Hard Drive won’t even work, I hooked it up to my pc, but it doesn’t spin, my Mom spen’t years on artwork, all for nothing because of his selfish-ness. He had the password for their account that they shared, and she forgot it, and he refused to give it to her. Probably because he has porn on it. My life is pathetic, I try hard in school, and get good grades, and he doesn’t aknowledge anything. His parents gave him the money to go to college, but he spen’t it on a motorcycle and moved to the west coast. My favorite thing to do, is go to the mountains with my friends. I was going to see a few old friends of mine, which I haven’t seen in 4 years, they moved to the east coast, they wen’t to the mountains, and I was suppose to go with them, but couldn’t because my Dad financially fucked us over. All of his statements are forwarded to his office, so no one can see them, and he gives my fucking faimily an “allowance” for food, etc. It’s bull shit, he makes over 160k a year, yet a family of 3 can barely afford gas. I can’t see my friends, it’s shitty. He makes everyone awkward. If I go to get something to eat, like an oreo, or some kind of cookie. He will start questioning like “what is that in your hand” and make you feel guilty about eating it. When he himself will stuff his fucking face with them when no one’s around. He was suppose to pick up my sister last week from her friends after work, 5 hours after he left work, she wasn’t picked up. He wen’t to a sport’s bar and got drunk, he wouldn’t respond to anyone. My Dad’s friend call’s my Mom and tells her to do whatever she can to NOT let him pick her up. So my mom in a panic calls him, and then drives to pick up my sister. She calls my sister and tells her friends mom to NOT answer the door for my dad. She was crying, and was sad because my Dad was there, and she couldn’t open the door for him because he was drunk of his ass. My Mom then arrives, and he immediately causes a scene. My Mom had to threaten to call the cops on him while he yelled, and caused a scene infront of their house. When he get’s back home, he act’s like nothing happened. Infact, the next day, he couldn’t remember a thing.

At his old job, he was fired because he was greedy. He thought he would make more money by doing a deal (he worked for Monex) with a guy, and selling him gold before the check’s arrived, and when the check’s arrived, they bounced. He was fired. And didn’t have a job for 3 months. He didn’t even look for a job. He just worked out all day, and pretty much ignored us. He got a job right before we lost our house, last minute. I FUCKING HATE HIM. He recked my birthday, for his enjoyment. He doesn’t even let me have a birthday party, he keeps all of the families income in a separate bank account, and only gives us what we need to survive(and somehow spends the rest). He’s ruining my life, and I can’t fucking tolerate him. I’m not even saying any of the bad things he has done, because morally to me, that is going TOO far with this. how does my middle school president election speech sound? criticism please. . .?

ok . . . well this is gonna b really weird if anyone from my school sees this but i’m bored so i figured might as well see what u people think. in case it isn’t clear i’m running for middle school asb president. here it is without names:

Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. Rethink. 4 little words with huge potential. I, (my name), am ready to take on more responsibility, new challenges, and encourage students to take action in our school and community. I will bring new ideas into ASB, have an open mind, love suggestions, and make sure things get done. The position as Student Council President is not a figurehead, but a commitment that requires hard work. Today’s election is of importance to the future of (school name); we need strong leadership that will take action and get results.
Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. Rethink, is not just a slogan, but a way of life that can do a lot for our school and our community. Reduce: the number of flyers that are sent home. We get so many unwanted pieces of paper that are forgotten and wasted. With schoolloop, we should be putting more information in one central location. Reuse: instead of throwing everything away to start fresh next year, we should start a few collection boxes. Got a protractor that you don’t need? Give it to a teacher for next year. We should also start an Internet material box in the library. When kids do a research report, we print so many articles that get thrown away. Save those resources for others to grab. Recycle: Yes, we already have recycling bins, but what about turning bottles and cans in for money. In the long run, it will really add up. Rethink: The student store. We have some great food, but we are constantly out of what you guys want. Even with health standards and needing to earn profit, we need more variety. Next, the dances. We love the free dress and the pizza, but we need to make the dances more enjoyable. The cafeteria is so crowded, we should consider having an outdoor dance. Also, every dance is very similar and can get boring. We should mix it up. Maybe sell some popcorn, or have a carnival themed dance and sell cotton candy. Or turn it into a social event with a DJ, dancing, ice-cream, candy, snow cones, etc. These are a few of my suggestions, but I also want to hear yours.
I hope my professional demeanor has shown you that I am ready to take on the role as Student Body President. I have earned the trust of many faculty members and students alike. I can assure you I will continue to come through for our school. I am prepared to take action and get results.

Car Wash: I cant rent any space to do a car wash and I don’t think it looks good to ask to use the clients water supply due to the fact that I will have to go door to door.
Yard Work: Its incredibly unfortunate that I am so allergic to spring and summer time, because I do not mind doing yard work, but it gets hard to plant flowers and cut grass when my eyes are watering so bad I cant see.
Baby Sitting: I’m looking for a more professional job other than baby sitting and I think most parents have baby sitters and don’t plan on switching just for the summer.
Online Source: I have looked online to make money, and each one turns out to be a scam. I am so sick of people suggesting online surveying or “click ads and make money“. SO NO ONLINE SOURCES!
Dog walking is an option, although maybe as a last resort.
House cleaning/ pet sitting: I don’t think many people who go on summer vacations would trust a 16 year old male to watch their house.
