Your Questions About Real Money Making Schemes

Robert asks…

Mona Vie: What’s the Real Deal?

My in-laws are going crazy over Mona Vie. They’re become distributors and claim they’re going to make big money. They also claim they’ve never felt better in their life.

I’m skeptical. If it’s so great, then why hasn’t it been written about in medical journals?

They are begging me to join their team, feel great and have the opportunity to make a ton of money. But, I just can’t allow myself to fall into this business. It still seems like a very well crafted, money making scheme.

I’m looking to hear opinions or experiences from other people

Nagesh answers:

Well, MonaVie is a fantastic antioxidant, but it is basically just like any other Acai juice… Just some different “other fruits” for flavoring and likely more than twice the price as the others (you seldom taste a lot of the Acai itself). That being said, Acai in general is very beneficial for overall health, and we have hundreds of customers that buy various Acai products. Also, Acai has been reviewed and studied rather extensively in order for the FDA to allow it to be sold in the U.S. (you could find many medical studies listed at http://www.pubmed.org for example).

Most Multi-Level Marketing companies jack the price way up to pay for all the people that were hired above the person that sells it to you, not to mention all their advertising. It’s best to do the research before buying anything that expensive.

Laura asks…

Is reincarnation real?

Are there only so many souls in the world and we have to be reborn to learn lessons and better ourselves, why do many religions not believe in this, isn’t it possible or is past life regression a money making scheme.

Nagesh answers:

If the person who said that the population of the world growing proves that reincarnation is NOT real, well then maybe not ALL souls are reincarnated, but I know that SOME are, because I know that I have lived before and I believe in reincarnation. Maybe some souls are new to human life, some are old, I believe Im an old soul and nearly ready to resign from being reincarnated, nearing my destination of spiritual evolution….No matter WHAT you believe, Reincarnation IS a valid belief, just as valid as any other. If one thinks its “ridiculous”, they might as well think it’s “ridiculous” that their savior rose from the dead and will return to save them and bring back all their loved ones from the dead, right? People should respect others beliefs because sometimes their very own beliefs are just as “Ridiculous” sounding as the ones they are ridiculing….

James asks…

Are the infomercials selling real estate and making millions just a get rich scheme?

Would this by and large just be a scam that offers a “pie in the sky”solution to people who “wish” it were all true, and the payoff for the guy selling the plan is the public money buying into the scam?

Nagesh answers:

Next time be sure to read the fine print on the bottom of the TV screen that says :Results not typical of investors.” Therein lies your answer.

It takes money to make it in real estate- and patience, time and guts. If you have to mortgage your primary home it is not worth the risk. I am in real estate, and can not buy property like they say on TV. Nor would I if I could. But I do locate deals occasionally and do buy occasionally, then restore and sale for profit. Yes there is money to be made in real estate, hold on a bit and as things slow foreclosures raise, you will have your opportunity. You make your money when you buy, not sell.

BTW: most of those same gurus have been broker multiple-ple times, they now make much of their current fortunes telling you too how to go broke. They get paid up front by you for you having the privilege of learning how they went broke.

Better to strike up a relationship with a real estate broker that does similar things, who knows when to hold when to fold and when to walk away. That broker will make you money as he too has a stake in your success- the sale to you and the sale for you. They will also have a list of reputable vendors for repairs, etc.

Michael asks…

Are psychics real?

I believe they are.
I believe they exist.
But …. then …. can’t they help ‘maddy’s case’?
Or is it really just a moneymaking-scheme to some of them?

Nagesh answers:

Most people have some extrasensory abilities. If you get a “feeling” that something will happen and it does, or you have a dream that comes true, or if you expect a certain person to call you and the phone rings. Everybody has these, and some have more of a talent for it than others. There are different “psychic” abilities. One is called “precognition” or the abilitiy to know what will happen beforehand. Another is called “telepathy” which is an ability to know what is happening from far away. This usually accompanies a strongly emotional or tragic event, such as a mother knowing her soldier son has been killed or injured far away in a war. I believe that sometimes these come from the Holy Spirit. This happened many times and there are recorded incidents of this.

Another ability is the “I see dead people type”. Being visited by deceased relatives is surprisingly very common. And has been reported by 62% of people interviewed. I was visited twice by my deceased husband in the first year after he died, once in a dream and once while I was sitting quietly reading a book at home. He simply wanted to say I love you and that he was happy and doing fine. This is often a great comfort. Some people would say that your relatives do not come back and these are deceiving spirits. I would answer that I know my husband and was not deceived, and it comforted and strengthened my faith, not diminished it. I did not “summon” the dead, and the bible warns us not to. Playing with Ouija boards and seances and such things is greatly forbidden, and in those situations what you would summon is the deceiving spirits.

A so-called abilitiy to move physical objects is called Telekinesis. It is my opinion that this is more satanic than anything else, and paying too much attention to all of these kinds of incidents and abilities can become a matter of pride and can also be satanic influenced and even turn into false religion.

I believe that some people have more of a talent for some of these “psychic” abilities than others and it is not a bad thing if it is not over-done or used to aggrandize one’s self or claim special great powers for fame and money. These incidents are never reliable nor repeatable and do not stand up to scientific testing because they do not always work, even among those most talented.

People who enter show business or try to make money are usually charlatans that prey on and decieve others, and some are just magicians doing tricks for entertainment and know they are not serious.

Richard asks…

Anyone ever notice how employment websites are getting progressively worse?

Their listings are nothing more than drowning with scam artists like “Work at Home”, “Make Money With Real Estate”, and other pyramid schemes.

Nagesh answers:

I totally agree with you. Seems all they have are work at home/secret shopper crap. I’m looking for a job and i feel like i’m wasting my time on these boards. But most businesses don’t want you to just walk in and apply anymore. They want you to do it on line. It’s a ‘go around’ for sure.

Good luck

Chris asks…

Fundraiser ideas please!?

I’m trying to raise money to go to Italy for the summer with an academic program. It’s 5 grand and I need the money by may 19. Do you have any good ideas for fundraisers to make money fast? I’m willing to work hard I just want to make the money in time! Thank you!

Nagesh answers:

Get a job…..? Fundraising 5k is a lot of money man. Job would be the easiest in my opinion.

Donald asks…

Need fundraiser Ideas!?!?

My debate team is starting out the school year literally broke. We need to make money and fast. There are a quite a few members so we would be able to pull off bigger things. We need suggestions on how to make a good amount of money with preferably doable fundraisers. Help!

Nagesh answers:

It really depends how big your team is and how much money you need.

Some common fundraisers are:

Selling candy bars door to door and at school (not super exciting but it always works)

Selling discount cards for local businesses door to door

Holding a free car wash one Saturday morning in a high traffic corner (the free sign will get people in – and they will give a donation)

I once was part of a fundraiser that split an entire field in 2 foot by 2 foot squares (with chalk) and then sold raffle tickets for the squares. A cow was then put on the field and if the cow pie landed on your square you won. Believe it or not – my organization made $16,000 off this promotion in 1988 – which was a ton of money then.

Michael asks…

what is a fast way to make a lot of cash

ideas for fundraiser? or some other idea to get money quickly

Nagesh answers:

How old are you. You can have a car wash or a bake sale. You can wash a passenger car for 7 or 8 bucks, and larger cars or vans for 11 or 12 bucks. For a bake sale, you can sell cookies 25 or 50 cents for 1 and $1 for 3 cookies. Cupcakes for 75 cents each or $2.50 for 2 cupcakes. Cake can be sold for $5 for small 6 inch ones and $10 for a large cake 9-12 inches. Have drinks around like water for $1, juice for $1.50, soda for $2.50, and beer or liquor for $5.

Lizzie asks…

Music Tour Fundraisers!!!?

I need some solid ideas for fundraising that would bring in lots of money fast so that I can go on my schools music tour to LA next year. I have a job but im not allowed to spend that money on tour because its for uni. My parents will consider letting me go if there is no doubt that i can raise my $5,000 because they cant afford to help me out if i cant. I have ten months before tour but i need to have a solid plan in place. I need to also make sure I have time for school and for my other work.
I have the option to pay in chunks which would be about $200-300 every three weeks then approximately a $600 balance at the end. Please help- I need some really good, profitable, quick and easy diy fundraising projects, or ideas about community helpers that can donate money or give me a grant, or someone who may be able to sponsor me for at least a portion of it. Thanks!

Nagesh answers:

Try by getting a free fundraising kit from various websites. It’s a great way to learn more about the fundraising options they offer. With the right information and the right tools they can help you make your next fundraiser a success.

All fundraising groups are going to have to sell their items to generate money. Everyone starts with selling to mom and dad then moves on to friends. The more successful the campaign means the more people you will actually have to talk to. Here are a collection of sales tips you can use to help you while you are raising funds.

– Have fun and enjoy what you are doing. It is not necessary to have a canned speech and perform it by memory. You can talk to people and have fun with your campaign, the donors will pick up on this and sales will increase.
– Be honest while making the rounds for sales. You are a representative of your school group.
– People do not want to be told what to do. Your job is to make people feel good about donating to your school group.
– When you get a no, don’t take it personally. The donors are not saying they don’t like you; they just may not care for the product or have the money available at the time.
– For people who are nervous about selling a little preparation is key. By practicing your sales talk it will bring confidence. Again the goal is not to recite something word for word but to talk about your fundraising campaign with confidence. It might sound a little funny but try role-playing if selling is an issue with you. Spend time with people rehearsing just talking and getting past an objection or two.
– Avoid hard selling. There is no need to be pushy while fundraising. People like to help out and also enjoy buying. You may even be able to offer them the chance to show up to school to check out the new equipment, or the new uniforms for the baseball team. By being friendly and a good representative you just might pick up new volunteers along the way.
– If possible get a booth or a table in a high traffic area. Places like malls or local events. This will get you lots of traffic and potential donors that you can approach.

These sales tips are good for whatever sales you might find yourself in. You might even consider these tips good advice for talking to people and relating. Remember interacting with people will serve you better than just about any learned skill taught. A little preparation with these tips will insure that your fundraising campaign is both fun and profitable.

Your Questions About Earn Money Through Internet Home

Ruth asks…

Does anybody know of legitimate computer-based “work at home” businesses?

I’m looking to earn some extra money after work using my home computer. I’d rather not have to sell anything if possible and would like it to be computer-based. There are so many scams out there it’s scary! Any ideas?

Nagesh answers:

How To Make Money Fast Online

http://mmmeliteclub.com

“How do I make money fast?” Luckily for everyone who has ever had that question come to mind there is an answer! There are several ways to make money quickly online, now we will venture through the online category.

4 websites to make money online.

1. Associated Content.
2. Cash Crate.
3. Forum booster.
4. Maverick Money Makers

Let’s begin with associated content. Associated content should be the number one stop for those people who frequently ask themselves, how I could make money fast. Associated Content requires you to write content, which in other words for those who aren’t familiar with the online language, content means articles.

Associated Content requires that you write articles for them, they will pay you anywhere from $3 to $40 for your content.

Most of the time however the bids that they place on your content are for much less than $10. However, this is still a great way to make money online if you can type several articles per day. You may be surprised to see how easy it has become to earn a part time income through writing for Associated Content.

The next site that we will talk about is Cash Crate. Cash Crate is a site that pays you to take surveys. They may pay anywhere from a dollar to possibly a hundred dollars, just for you to take a survey.

Doesn’t sound too bad now does it? The reason they pay you to complete surveys is that companies are willing to shell out loads of cash for in-depth information from their consumers to find out exactly what they word on the street is about their product or services.

They even have a daily survey on the homepage that is guaranteed to make you some extra income; the guaranteed survey on the homepage pays $0.80. It may not seem like much but do the math, over a 30 day time period. That is almost $30 extra dollars just for taking surveys.

Are you still asking yourself that question, how do I make money fast? Well if writing tons of articles and taking surveys doesn’t really sound like your cup of tea, there is always the alternative of Forum Booster.

Forum Booster is a website that pays you $0.10 for each post you make on a forum. This is great for those of us that would be searching and posting on forums either way, why not get paid for it? If you can post sixty posts in 1 hour, you can make $6, which is not that bad for earning money online.

It may not be minimum wage, but you have the advantage of being in the comfort of your own home. You can be in your pajamas sipping coffee while working on posting on these forums. Each post should be a minimum of 12 words, which is not difficult to do at all.

Overall there are tons of ways to make money quickly online but these are just the tried and true and the best of the best.

Maverick Money Makers is a private society that will teach you how to
build a solid business on the internet. It will teach from the very basic with easy to understand videos, all sort of resources to help you make money and many more

Susan asks…

Where can i find legitimate work at home opportunities?

I am really interested in finding an online opportunity where i can work from home and earn a resonable income. I’ve been reserching but i always find sites that either sound too good to be true or ask for money. Can someone help? I’m not looking for a get rich quick scam. I just want something to do at home that works around my schedule and that will bring in an extra income at home.

Nagesh answers:

If minimum wage is a sufficient amount of income for you, because that’s all you will get working a home “job” online or offline. Companies use people to work at home and not have to pay propper salaries because their traveling expenses are gone. If you think about the cost of living, house payments (or rent in some cases) food, utilities, still needing gas to get to the stores and other activities, car payments, toiletries etc etc. A minimum wage job does not cut anything.
If you really want to work from home and make a sufficient amount of income, I suggest you start your own home based business. Plenty of different things from Child Daycare Centers, Telecommunications (don’t get it confused between telemarketing and telecommuting because it’s far different then that), Plumbing, catering, scrapbooking, Health, Candles, travel agents, etc etc.
The income opportunity is incredible in home based business. Same opportunities as traditional business except you don’t have all the overhead that the traditional businesses acquire. You just need to find one that you’d enjoy getting involved in and one that has a great compensation plan. Most home based business cost under $500. Some cost more depending on what it is you want to do.
I don’t know what you like to do, so I can only tell you what my husband and I started over six years ago and point you out to some others to take a look at. Ours well supports our family of six. We have four children ages 10, 6, 3 and 1. It is also becoming a major funding source for non-profit organizations.
We got involved in the telecommunications industry with a world wide company that’s over 15 years old. We’ve been featured in several magazines Inc 500 rated us the 22nd fastest growing company. They offer services that people use every day and pay for anyway, but now they can have a lower cost. Services such as local and long distance phones, Internet, digital phones, video phones (you can see the person your taking to live)VOIP, Satellite TV, and all the major cellular phone companies like Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Alltell, Nextell etc. Have partnered up with them too.
How many people do you know, or know of, that uses one or more of these services? How would you feel if you could save people money on services that they’re already using? Every time they pay their bills each month, you make a percentage off these bills every single month. Huge income opportunity. It’s incredible how much money is involved in this industry.

I also created a blog on my 360 page on home based business’s. There’s over half a dozen different ones to take a look at. Your more then welcome to browse through them for some ideas.

Carol asks…

Is there any company that can provide free job online job?

I want to earn unlimited income through working at home, but I can’t pay any money as registration fee. Is there any company that provides free jobs at home?

Mark asks…

is their any legitimate work at home jobs on the internet?

I would like to be able to work at home to be with my children. I live in a very rural area and the cost of gas compared to local wages is not worth the trip into town.

Nagesh answers:

In fact, I did not want to know anything about this. But then I realized that all the time lost waiting for loadings in the pc, and just click on an ad, I will continue doing something else, I don’t spend time reading advertising (like changing channels on the TV commercials) So I decided to register in those sites. And the truth is not so much you earn, but enough to just minutes a day (that We waste in loadings) to make some extra bucks, it paid enough for the internet bill and to have a Rapidshare and Megaupload acount. Also to buy needless things in the net. It’s not much, but 50 or 100 dollars extra cash per month is an aid (some earn more than that). But, you need patience, a lot of patience because it takes several months to reach that number (if not the whole world would do), but once You got referrals,it’s all much easier.
And be careful with those scams (those that offer get rich without effort, or pay more than 0.1/0.2 cents per click or have to gather a lot to do extraction, are all FRUD), but some always paid. You must remember that there is no easy money, though this is not at all difficult, it can be tiring routine as always (even if only 5 min) but you get used to not mind and you see it still your stuff always in the pc and give clicks through these pages whenever you decide, askMe any questions that you like,I Help.Good Luck

Your Questions About Fast Money Online For Free

Michael asks…

What are some good websites online where you can make money for free by taking surveys?

I recently got an allowance of $10.00 a week, but I want money much faster than that because I want to save up for a playstation portable core (psp 1000) on amazon selling for $400.00. I’m talking about a website that pays you to take surveys. All the other ones I’ve tried are scams, but I need to know some websites that you can make money just by answering questions. Thanks.

Nagesh answers:

Can’t say much whether it works or not but from my experience I have seen so many people regret wasting a lot of money online yet still can’t earn any money online. And the one that has made money online from my observation has been online for a long time before ever make good money and most of them are already somebody in the offline world. The had full time job before but couldn’t stand to work 9-5 jobs anymore so they tried to find something online.

Basically I can say if you want to earn money online you need to have some of kind of expertise and credibility because I also found that most people buy from people they trust. And even more so now than before. Credibility and trustworthy is very critical online. Just take a look at you. How long would you take to make the decision to make a purchase? Do you really believe strangers giving you some answer to your questions right away.

Most people don’t even realise this. They took time to make a purchase but when they sell something they expect people to buy from them the first time those people came across their website. So please understand the reality of internet first and you will know how to make online. And it would be a little bit easier if you really have the desire. Hope that helps a bit.

Linda asks…

Where can I read books for free online?

Hi. I’m trying to find a site where I can read books for free online. I don’t care if you have to download them as long as there’s no viruses.

Please don’t tell me that I should buy the books because the writers need to make money and all of that other stuff. I do buy books, but I read them very fast so its wasting my $20.

So…does anyone know any sites?

Nagesh answers:

I too read fast. But that doesn’t give me the right to steal from authors. If the author wants you to read his book for free, he will post it on his website.

Here are some books that the authors have willingly allowed people to read for free.

Taking books from authors who haven’t given permission is like shoplifting in a book store.

Sandra asks…

are there any animal games that are fun, free, online, and have quick growing animals?

Besides creature breeder, foopets, howrse, or any of those other general sites that take a long time for your pet/animal to grow or you have to pay money for. I want a game where you can breed for free and have your pet fast.
Thx!

Nagesh answers:

Hi! Check out Dhaasu Games. Http://dhaasu.com . You would surely find something that suites your interest 🙂 ..

Lizzie asks…

How Can I Lose Cheek Fat Fast and for FREE!?

I don’t have money to spend online so I need exercises, diets, do’s and donts, or some kind of secret. I bought courses that just did not work. Please help me out.

Nagesh answers:

Try the Lil Jack Workout http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKCGe2Ezris it really works

Ken asks…

best site to get online money from ?

hey … i like makin money online ..lyk ptc sites but dats too slow lyk bux .to … i want a site for collectin money or makin money by doin free surveys or clickin ads but the point is fast paying ..ntw .. i dont want a casino lol …. i just want a Free site that gives money

Nagesh answers:

Just a warning, some people are just ripping you off to help themselves. I have tried atleast 20 survey sites and there have been about 3 really good ones. The very best one is:
http://www.awsurveys.com/homemain.cfm?re…
When you sign up, you have a chance to get 27$ off of surveys right away and the surveys are very short. Now this probably makes you think that it is fake because they are giving you this much money, but the cash out is 75$, and after the 27$ worth of surveys, they only give you like 1 every 1-2 weeks worth 5$. However, you can receive $1.25 for each referal you make to get to the 75$, or you can just wait a few months and get it by surveys. It defintely isn’t a scam and I am not ripping you off as this doesn’t really help me. If you have questions, or want to know about any other good survey sites, email me at chehabif@greenhill.org. Thanks.

Your Questions About Money Making Schemes Online

Nancy asks…

How do I start my own online website?

I have an idea on what I want to do, but I have no clue on how to put a website together or how to make money doing it. The idea is solid I think, but no means of doing it.

Nagesh answers:

The easiest way for a novice to build a web site is to start with a web template. Web Templates can be customized and you can use the layout but swap the graphics etc…. This will get you comfortable with basic HTML design and an HTML editor (like Dreamweaver).

Here are some resources for free or inexpensive templates that are easy to edit and manage.

Webmaster Templates – http://www.webmaster-templates.net
Free Web Templates – http://www.freewebtemplates.com/
Web Design Elements – http://www.webdesign-elements.com
Free Website Templates – http://www.freewebsitetemplates.com/
Free Layouts – http://www.freelayouts.com/
Free Templates Online – http://www.freetemplatesonline.com

HTML website templates can significantly ease the burden of designing and creating websites by providing webmasters with a ready-made web layout, structure, basic graphics, and color scheme.

The templates can generally be edited and customized with any HTML editor. The biggest advantage for webmasters using ready-made templates is the amount of time that can be saved.

Michael asks…

What do you think about those ads that say you can get paid for taking online surveys?

Are they any good?
Can you make good money?
Is it a scam or the real deal?

Nagesh answers:

First of all, sorry to say, but most of the sites ARE a scam.

They say its all legitimate but once you sign up and take a few surveys, you either realize that you have to pay for something and in return you receive a little more than you payed after the survey is taken. Also, sometimes they say you can earn up to $120 a day but what they really mean is you have the CHANCE. Some sites pay you points that you use to enter in drawings that occur everyday. Some cash prizes are up to $1,000 in these drawings.

Don’t be sad though, there are legitimate ones. I remember finding one a while ago that literally would pay you for every survey you took and if you did product test groups, you would even keep the item. This was one of the 3 that worked out of hundreds I have checked out before. I am a chaser of get-rich-quick schemes.

Hope this helped!

Donna asks…

Anyone here able to teach me ways to make money online?

Im 17, and I really need to make some money. I’ve always been interested in money my whole life, and know I can. I need someone who has eaither done stock or other things online to make money who can teach or let me in on a few things… Also, if you know any way I can invest in stock for free let me know, because every stock trade there is cost alot. if your interested in making money with me, or wanna help let me know your IM name for anything if ya have one. thanks.

Nagesh answers:

Graduate from college. You’ll make a good living if you do. What little money you have will be gone chasing get-rich quick schemes.

Daniel asks…

How / where can I find a LEGITIMATE job opportunity to work from home? So many are scams or pyramid schemes?

I live in a rural area of Pennsylvania, & enjoy using the computer, writing, organizing, & taking care of pets. I do not want to be involved in a pyramid scheme or get ripped off, but I am willing to work hard, for a legitimate business that does not charge up-front fees to get started.

Nagesh answers:

I don’t know about any good work at home job. But, I can tell you what type of business you can start online without any money at front. There are a lot of online companies offering free Affiliate program, agent opportunities, or partnerships.

Well the first thing you need to do is finding a good affiliate program and join it. Good affiliate programs are those that have no time limits for visitors to come back and make a purchase through your affiliate link, support affiliate phone sales, offer you free co-branding rights of their web site (a plus but not required), enough web marketing tools (banners, links, store fronts, articles with links, etc…), and offline marketing tools (flyers, sale scripts, postcard, and more)

Pick companies that sell only one kind of product or have one web site per product. This will make it easy for you to promote online or offline. Try to read articles, guides, or books about the services or products that you decide to promote. Look for what’s hot on the market right now…

Some of the products you can look for are:
VoIP Services (make money per sale and on the monthly bill)
Satellite TV (make money per sale minimum $50)
Business E-books (make money per sale)
Business Softwares (make money per sale)

Try to learn as much as you can about internet marketing

Good luck!

Ruth asks…

What is a pyramid scheme and why is it illegal?

so for example a person tells you to buy a product online and get as many people you know
you get a percentage is that the case? thats what i have been told but wouldnt that be considered as a commission
ohh and how is MLM different ? i need examples lol 🙂
ok a person wont lose their money as long as they recruit people so how does this scheme fail

Nagesh answers:

The other responder (Hiro) is quite correct as far as he went, and I see no need to repeat that part.
The difference between a pyramid scheme and an MLM is that an MLM offers a legitimate product or service. The classic example is Amway / Quixtar. Amway has legitimate products for sale (which actually aren’t bad), but if you have even spoken to a sales rep, you know that they are not especially interested in selling the product, and they are very interested in getting you to sell the product. The presence of a legitimate product makes it legal.
The MLM eventually reaches saturation level in every market (Who are you going to recruit to sell if everyone you know is already selling Amway?). That is why most MLM sellers fail. They can’t recruit enough of their friends, and end up losing money.
Here is some math for you to chew on. If you have to recruit four people to break even, and they each have to recruit four people. Then here are the numbers:
Level 1 : 1
Level 2: 4
Level 3: 16
Level 4: 64
Level 5: 256
Level 6: 1024

Level 12: Over 1 Million
Level 18: Over 1 Billion
Level 20: Every living human being on the face of the earth, and then some.

Now can you see how fast you can saturate a market like this?

Your Questions About Ways To Make Money Fast For College Students

John asks…

How can I make fast money to pay of debt and buy my wife a wedding ring?

I’m still young and a college student. I spent $1000 in credit cards trying to make extra money to get my wife a wedding ring for Christmas as we’ve been married for quite some time now but I wasn’t so lucky. Now I’m in deb $1,000 as well as no money to get my wife the ring she’s been waiting for 🙁 can someone help me find a way to make money fast and pay of my debt and get my wife a ring? Or if someone can loan me some money and I will pay you back? I know it sounds kind of silly, but I want my wife to be happy this year for Christmas. Whether it take a few years or months if someone is out there willing to help please let me know.

Nagesh answers:

Pay off your debt first before you buy a ring and get married! If you can’t afford a ring now, then you shouldn’t even think of purchasing one. If you need to make payments on a ring then I wouldn’t do that either. Honestly, stop spending your money! I would start saving your money. Don’t go eating out… Eat at home. Don’t buy clothes all the time. Get a less inexpensive cell phone plan. Don’t own a new car buy a used one. Pay off all your bills on time. There are so many things you can do to save money. Do that first so you can someday get a ring you can afford.

Betty asks…

Well paying but flexible jobs for college students?

I am 19 going on 20 and I live in Tampa, FL. I am a college student and I just recently got my own apartment. I pay for my own utilities and rent as well as gas for my car, laundry services and groceries. Plus I am looking for money to save up for the future and for current necessities like furniture for my apartment. I don’t have a room-mate to share the bills with so I am looking for a job where I can earn AT LEAST about 1500-1700 dollars a month or more. I only attend classes 3 days a week and I’m free most weekends (or at least I’m willing to free up my weekends if it means earning some cash instead of spending it). Of course flexibility is always convenient but seeing as I have weekends free I don’t think I will encounter a challenge in that area. I’m looking for a job that is close to downtown, where I can earn a good salary. The only thing is I don’t have much “on-the-books” experience. I worked at my parents family owned restaurant business from the time I was big enough to stack the bottom 4 shelves to the time I was 16. I was a nanny/babysitter for a year when I was 17-18. I was a server at TGI Fridays for 7 months and I served at a country club for one month between ages 18 and 19 until I moved to Tampa to transfer schools. I am majoring in elementary education but I don’t necessarily ONLY need a job working with kids. I am a people person. I do love serving/waitressing but I need to work at a place that pays very well and is not picky about experience, which is not the usual combination. Anyone know of any jobs that would be good for me? I heard that Starbucks has great benefits but how can I apply and make sure I have a better chance of getting hired if they don’t see me face (since applications are all online)… that goes for other online apps too. I just need to get a well paying job soon and fast. And for all the smarty pants out there, please don’t say stripper (or anything like it) just because there’s so many strip clubs in Tampa -___- **ALSO I love art! anyone maybe think of any creative ways to make money like crafts, baking or selling something, entrepreneurial style? 😉
Thanks James that’s SUCH a good idea! McDonald’s would definitely pay the bills. Thanks for being so helpful. Your sarcasm is greatly appreciated!

Nagesh answers:

Working 40 hours a week, you’d need a job that pays more than $10/hour (to account for tax withholding and other deductions) to make that much per month. I can’t think of any jobs that pay that to newbies, and getting full time isn’t guaranteed, so you might have to double up. Definitely get a roommate (or a better deal on an apartment) as soon as you can.

In general, the closer a business is to a college, the more lenient they are to flexibility. It still comes down to being as predictable as possible regarding hours, and giving advance notice of any changes, so you can be scheduled. Two weeks is the usual amount of lead time many employers expect.

Don’t worry too much about your experience—simply being reliable (no tardiness or absences) makes an employer take notice. And so long as someone can vouch for the fact you can, say, brew coffee, keep supplies in order, or be trusted with someone’s children, you actually have a lot more experience than you think. A lot of foodservice jobs don’t require prior experience, and the better ones are willing to train. If your school offers work counseling or holds job fairs, check in with them.

As for selling crafts, have a look around sites like deviantart.com, which has a crafts area and helps users make sales. I’m told etsy.com is also popular, though I’ve seen some questionable items sold there. EBay is also an option if you’re smart about making deals and not getting ripped off.

Keep in mind that you may have to start living without some comforts in order to make ends meet. A glass of water instead of a combo soda can save quite a bit of money in the long run.

Ken asks…

How do I save money?

My husband left me and my 4 month old about 2 months ago (we live in Texas) to work in the Hurricane Damage in New Orleans. The main reason he decided to go was becasue he more that quadrupled our income by going down there. (He’s now making roughly 4,000 dollars a month compared to the 1k a month (I’m not kidding) we were making). I’m a college student and SAHM by the way. Anyway, the hwole point of him working there was for us to have a new start, buy a house etc, but we can’t seem to save ANYTHING. The money goes SOOO fast between me going there to visit him, him coming here, and living expenses for both of us plus we are honestly blowing a LOT of money (not necessarily blowing, i mean we’re buying clothes for our daughter, new carseat, new crib, clothes for us, TONS of videos (that’s our hobby since neither of us drink or smoke). We really cant help it, we are so used to NOT having any money, its hard to not be spending. ANyone have any suggestions, I honestly want him home already

Nagesh answers:

Having a kid is very expensive but necessary, traveling is expensive too. I have my wages direct deposited to my checking acount, and then i have an automatic deposit from checking to my online savings account every pay period. It is not much but it adds up and you earn interest. By the way you should definitely have savings, especially with a child.

Sharon asks…

19 year old dates guys 30-50 yrs. old for MONEY?

My friend we are college students. She hooks up with older guys like 30-50 years old. She tries to talk me into doing it but I am not dumb and I feel that its wrong for her to be using these guys for their money. I also tell her that these guys are just as crazy to be involved with a girl her age because she is just 19 years old. I think these guys are creeps and are dumb and will talk to any woman regardless of their age just for sex. I got sooo upset at her because she literally has a answer for everything. She thinks what she is doing is okay and their is no harm in it. Ofcourse these guys are looking for sex and will give her money and gifts to buy her love but so far she hasn’t gave them sex so this is her little strategy. She leads them on while they are giving her all these things then dump them before they ask for sex. So she feels like as long as she is not sleeping with them everything is okay. I get mentally tied up because since she has an answer for all that she is doing wrong its almost as if I can’t be the one to stop her until she realizes its just simply morally wrong to be using people for their money. I called her an Idiot and told her she is an A**. Once she met this guy not even a week later she was in his pool at his house swimming with her friend. They guy had a daughter the same age as her, I found that so disgusting. He brought her some expensive diamond earrings. And now she says he’ll be asking for sex soon, so she is preparing to dump. Long Story Short. She feels that she don’t need to find a job because she can make money faster from them than working. Like i said she has an answer for everything…. So i want to know from you, whats your advice??? she is sitting here next to me, i am telling her stop this lifestyle. And she wants to continue. Plz give some HARDCORE ADVICE. Let her know that this is not the right way. or am i WRONG?

Nagesh answers:

LOL! Don’t hate!!! And don’t worry, it will come back on here. Karma will get her good, she will meet some guy and fall head over hills and he will treat her like crap and get her heart smashed, it’s just a matter of time. Focus on you, not her.

Lisa asks…

How to eat healthy at Boars Head Deli.?

At my university, we are required to buy an allotment of money that can be spent on fast food places such as the on campus chick-fil-e, burger king, java city, ect.. but we also have this new place called Boars Head Deli that makes sandwiches.

I want to be healthy in addition to not gaining weight like many college students do, so is there any way to utlitize this sandwich making place without calorie bombing myself? I asked for a nutritional chart but they could not provide one and I’m being given the run around by trying to find one online

Thank you!

Nagesh answers:

The sandwiches do not go bad, so get a 12 then only eat half save the other half for another meal go with whole wheat bread, turkey or chicken no spread extra veggies, drink water, try to cut out the cheese also, you will find that is fairly healthy and saves you time and money on half your meals

Also, I would just look at every classified section there is because where I am from I see jobs for that all of the time.!.!!

Mary asks…

How can I make money really fast online?

Any ideas on how to make fast money online? Like websites or programs that can be used, I am in need of extra income and have been looking for a while.

Sandra asks…

How can I make money online fast at home?

I want to make oney online fast at home, but I do not know how I can do.I know many people can manke money online fast at home through the Internet,it is very good. Please help me,tell me your idea of make money online fast, thanks!

Nagesh answers:

There are several survey sites that are legit,, your not going to get rich doing them though. Do not give anyone your SSN there are lots of sites out there that are legit and they do not need this info from you. Nor do you have to pay to join.

Ken asks…

How can someone out of this country send me money?

My roommate owes me money for the electric bill but she left before giving me a check!
Now she’s in Mexico, and won’t be back until the 28th. The bill is due the 18th, and I can’t just pay for the whole thing myself.
Is there a way she can send me money fast or online?

Nagesh answers:

Western union, paypal, if she has a bank account she can send you wire.

Paypal is cheapest.

Lisa asks…

How do you really make money online?

If people really can make money online, than why hasn’t all the unemployed and disabled people done it? Simple.. Because it takes a heck of alot of money to start any business, and scammers love to trick those who have a penny into giving it to them.. Any one else have another idea?
Ok, everything so far has been a chain link or surveys. Surveys that just put you in for possible wins don’t pay nothing, it just allows people to know more about me and they call non stop. Not cool.

Nagesh answers:

If you go to affilorama.com you will find free information that will show you several ways of making a real money making business online.

This stuff works but you have to put in the effort. The scammers trick people because they try to make us believe that you only need to push a couple of buttons and you will succeed. That’s not true. If you see annything like that run as fast as you can.

Making money online involves real work just like in the reald world. It takes studying and persistence. Somany people give up, just like they do in the real world. Infact, a website called realworldtactics.com can give you some insight about how to really succed online. And it free

I can guarantee you that it does not take a lot of money to start an online business. But it does take some money to get your hands on information that will show you how to start a successful online business. Its just like in the real world. You have to pay some money to study a business course. After you gain the knowledge, you realise that there are 101 ways to succeed. “10 ways to skin a cat”, as they say.

A very easy way to make money online is to sell your stuff on ebay. But check out the free sites above as they will point you in the right direction.

When you feel like you are ready to start making money online, invest in yourself. A good place I know of is exclusive-wealth-coaching.com. Last time i checked, you get a risk free trial.

All the best

Your Questions About Real Money Making Schemes

Michael asks…

Why do people keep thinking Global Warming is real no matter how many facts they get?

Global warming is actually fake. I have done a LOT of research for my iSearch at school. My topic is Scalar energy. Scalar Energy is a energy that can changa the weather, do mind control, create fresh water, cure diseases like cancer and aids, create unstoppable weapons, and do much MUCH more. I still can’t believe Katrina was made by the goverment! Scalar Energy is not a conspiracy theory and has been scientifically proven. Many scientists are just afraid of reprisal. Any way “global warming” is just another money making scheme. People keep fallin for it like buying solar panels. Saying Global warming is real is like saying the Earth is flat and we will accidently drive off the edge. With scalar energy they can refreeze the ice caps since they made them melt in the first place!

Nagesh answers:

I would say people believe global warming is real because authorities, such as experts in the field, say it is real. Further, that the people are getting mostly facts that support this, makes it even more likely to be believed.

Your question appears to imply that the facts people get on this subject dispute global warming. This is not the case. Perhaps the “facts” you choose to read contradict global warming. But the most of the facts as reported in the news support the theory, and this is what most people hear about.

In fact, almost no scientist in the field disputes that the world is warming, i.e. That global warming is real. The two main arguments are over how much this is the result of mankind’s activities on earth, and at what rate will the warming continue. Also, the last time I checked, there were over 30 major and different models competing for being the right one for predicting the temperature, which means there is a lot of work to be done in the area of prediction before we can accurately estimate when we might reach some sort of crisis.

But as for your Scalar Energy claim, you’re right in that it is not a conspiracy theory, per se. It’s what is known as pseudoscience, such as astrology and parapsychology . To date, there have been *NO* scientific experiments to prove it’s existence.

Including Scalar Energy and it’s far out assertions in your argument about global warming only makes your point of view less credible to people that can do their own research and think independently.

Starting the Baldrige program in the fall?

Is it as bad as I’ve heard?
Scores plastered all over the place, student kept notebooks to calculate their scores and assume responsibility, endless training and meetings?? And my second graders are going to be doing this? Let’s get real here, folks. Anything good come of this or is it just another money making scheme by a company with a new wonderful program? See today’s article in the NY Times on this very issue. Feedback or your thoughts?

Nagesh answers:

Thats really bad..

Betty asks…

Isn’t it time religions and churches are taxed again?

These monstrous mega-churches are nothing but money making schemes and the American citizens are losing out on $$millions by not properly taxing them.

For pete’s sake this is the 21st century. Santa is not real.

Nagesh answers:

The less money the church has the less help the poor receive and the more the government will have to tax you to make up for it. Does this seem wise to you?

George asks…

Looking for a movie about an engaged man who goes to buy his “dream” car and it’s a sham?

This movie was probably made in the 80’s and he is engaged and goes to the city to buy his dream car, there is a beautiful saleswoman and she sits him down in the “option” room and he spends a ton of money on everything. He leaves with car and it falls apart a few miles down the road, he finds out that it was a moneymaking scheme and the saleswoman helps him get the real car he wanted and paid for. I think it ends with her dropping off the real car as he heads home to his fiance.

Donna asks…

Is this “Leadership America” scholastic thing for real?

We received something in the mail today advising us that our son has been invited to attend a Leadership America conference over the summer. He is very smart and very outgoing and involved in school, but you never know if these things are just a money making scheme or if he was invited based on scholastic ability. Has anyone ever heard of this conference and or attended one?

Nagesh answers:

If you are talking about the NYLC, my older son attended that in Washington, D.C. His junior year, and my younger son will do so this year.

The CYLC is the “parent” organization for a variety of sub-groups, which includes the National Youth Leadership Conference. Visit www.cylc.org for more information.

Is it a scam? No, I don’t think so. Is it a money-making proposition? Yes, I do think so.

My kids attend(ed) a private high school, and I guess these organizations will ask teachers for recommendations. Then they send letters to the kids saying such-and-such a teacher recommended them. Certainly they are being recommended by their teachers because they are good students, well-behaved, civic-oriented, perhaps.

It may look good on a high school transcript (ie for college) and can be a good, interesting experience for the student. I know my older son — an extremely bright, capable student — thought it was fascinating, and he enjoyed the time spent. He (and my younger son) went to 5-day sessions, not the longer ones in the summer.

There’s another set of conferences that seem more career-focused (e.g. Pre-med, law, etc.) They received invites for those but we passed simply because we knew less about them and because we’d already had a relatively good experience with NYLC. They also received invites from the GYLC (global/international group of the CYLC) but we similarly passed on those…longer programs, more expensive, only so many of these needed for transcript, etc.

If you’re talking about something else, I can’t help you.

You should ask your school’s principal and the recommending teacher about the organization, call alumni students, check all references, etc. Before ponying up any money or entrusting your child’s welfare to any group.

Jenny asks…

How to make money for teenagers in the winter.?

I need alot of ideas to pick and chose from.

I have phyisical injurys so i can’t do any thing that active, and I need that money FAST FAST FAST FAST.

Sharon asks…

How can a teenager make money?

I would definitely love to have a job but with the current “recession” nobody wants to hire me 🙁
Do you guys have any ideas of how can I make money because I am saving for my trip to France wish is going to be a lot. I used to have a job but not anymore :S…I am thinking about making videos and uploading them to youtube ahahah*

Any suggestions?

Nagesh answers:

Do projects and sell the stuff you make. Instructables.com has plenty of good ones that are not expensive at all. Just require some tools your parents might have laying around and some can even be bought at the dollar store.

Also I saw one guy buying up all the dollar store energy drinks. I figure he was going to mark them up later since he was fairly particular about the types he wanted. Dollar Tree is everything only a dollar unlike other ones.

Laura asks…

Money Making ideas for a Teenager?

I’m 14 years old and need to make atleast 2,000 dollars pretty soon. I’ve already had a few yardsales and I sell some of my paintings. I can’t drive and my parent’s schedules prevent them from taking me to any kind of job outside of the neighborhood. Any ideas? 🙂

Nagesh answers:

Thats going to be really tough because youre so young and many places require you to be at least sixteen… I guess you can go to your local frozen yogurt shop or smoothie shop…. Places like that may accept a 14 year old? Good luck!

Mary asks…

What is a good way for a teenager to make money on the internent?

I am 14 and in a hurry to make some money to pay my phone bill. Do you have any ideas of how I can make money on the internent, quickly??

Nagesh answers:

*Any legitimate online jobs would have been taken by out of work older adults, trying to support families during this recession. This also applies of most other jobs normally done by younger folks. This is limiting the options for finding ways to earn money.

William asks…

How can teenagers make lots of money?

I am a very responsible 12 1/2 yr old, living in England. I want to know how to make lots of money, relatively quick for shopping etc. I would love to babysit and have 2 younger brothers who I could start out with but most people say I should be 14 to babysit. Anyway, any ideas of making a reasonable amout of money (at least £15) would be really apreciated. I’m thinking doing jobs for my parents but I’m not sure what- ANY IDEAS REALLY APPRECIATED!!!

Thanks 🙂 xx

Your Questions About Make Money Quickly Uk

Richard asks…

Looking for a female singer for a small project?

I have posted before and decided to post again

I’m 15 years old from the UK and looking for a female singer. If anyone would be interested in singing about 10 tracks over time I’ve wrote the lyrics for. I use instrumental production music from online and write some lyrics for it. The music is mainly 80s style pop/dance sounding tracks. I could send the lyrics/music to you, you could record the vocals and send them back and i’ll mix the vocals with the music and send them back to you. Eventually there would an album of 10 tracks which would be something nice to have. This would be done online only. I’m not a professional musician by any means but this is just one of my hobbies. I don’t make money from this, I ain’t selling them, this is just a project for fun really. In the end I can make an album cover, booklet etc with the 10 tracks. I would prefer a singer who can work quickly as too many previous vocalists took too long over the first song. Thanks.

Nagesh answers:

Hello (:
I would love to help you out (:

Steven asks…

I almost got suckerd to play in a scam….do i go to the police?

I was chating with a guy(on yahoo chat) who was located in London but (he says) he is from CA. He wanted to know how much I made each month being that im a single mom and that right there caused me concern. I told him it was none of his concern but it was enough for me to get by with me and my kids. He wanted to know if I wanted to make more money and of course I said yea. He was telling me that I would work for him just filling out checks by putting peoples names on the checks/and money orders. And then I would send the checks out to these people located here in the states. Then I would get paid thru western union just for helping him out.

At that point, I told him that it sounds like a scam and if I were to recieve these checks I would go to the police first before filling out any of these checks to make sure that it was legal. He then quickly told me that I would just recieve the checks/money thru western union and I would send the money to these people that way. He then told me that he is with a finance company that is spread thruough Europe, UK, and Africa. His name is Johnson Smith. Heck he even gave me a pic too. But maybe that isnt so real, ya know?

So, im thinking that since I did not close this conversation box with this guy yet, I should just take my laptop to the cops and tell them what I was dealing with and this guy is possibly trying to recruit me as well as others to help in his scam…Do you think that that would be the thing to do or do ya think that the cops will just laugh at me for bringing this to their attention.
Yeah, i just called the police station and spoke with a female and she told me that there is nothing that they can do but just tell me not to talk to this guy anymore and that is that. I only wish it does not end here though. I wish I could go further and catch this guy before he strikes someone else, ya know? He is probably the source of the scam something like that. GRRRRRRR
ok, i was able to file a complaint thru ic3.gov. But I think I have to save this conversation or something from my yahoo chat….

Nagesh answers:

Go to FBI. Gov and look for computer fraud unit to report these scam artists.
Nigeria has set up a task force to stop all the negative scams committed within Nigeria alone.

Linda asks…

Advice on purchasing a puppy. Should I avoid this transaction? (Border Collie – UK) PLEASE HELP?

I found a puppy I was interested in via the pets4homes website. At first I felt really positive about the find but since doing more research, I need further input on whether or not it is actually a REALLY bad idea to buy from this breeder.

The Ad was for a Blue tri-colour. I wanted a female and was told there was only one left. Apparently they had been hoping to keep one but were happy to wait until the next litter as this was only the mothers second and she had ‘a good few left in her’ I forget now which of us spoke first.
Apparently The parents and a grandparent can all be seen and are all both KC and ISDS registered. To my recollection, however, there was no mention of health screening or health in general beyond worming and pavo vaccinations. The lady I spoke to did not profess to be selling them for anything other than pets but was saying they would be good for agility etc.

When I first rang, I was asked, by the very well spoken lady that answered, whether I was interested in the border collies or the labradors. Upon telling her I wanted a BC, she asked if it was the black, red or blue ones I had been interested in. As I had been looking at the blues specifically, I stipulated this and we left the conversation on the understanding that she would email me some pictures of the female and her parents the next morning.

It is now the morning AFTER that and I am yet to receive them. I did give her a call yesterday afternoon, a few hours after they were due to be in my inbox but she had apparently had a friend over and not had chance to get on the computer yet. She said though, that she would go out in the next half an hour to take some pictures to put in an email so I could make a decision on whether or not I wanted to lay down a deposit to secure her. For one reason or another, that didn’t happen.

She wants £400 pounds in total (£350 for the other colours) and was asking for a deposit of £100 sent by cheque through the post. a deposit makes sense to an extent as I am based in the east riding of yorkshire while they are in Carlisle. She said she didn’t know whether I’d be able to just do a transfer of the money from my bank (not sure why)
my questions are:

1. Does the fact that she has so many puppies on offer mean that she could be running a farm despite the parents being able to be seen?

2. Could the fairly reasonable price be indicative of her trying to shift them quickly or is it just well known that you can’t really ask for more unless you can prove they are from champion bloodlines etc

3. Is it unsafe or unreasonable for her to request the deposit through cheque or is this fairly standard procedure?

4. Should I be suspicious that I have still not received my photo’s or am I worrying over nothing as she obviously has a lot of dogs on her hands?

5. If this IS a situation I should avoid, what’s the deal with the KC and ISDS reg? I thought the point of these organizations was that they don’t allow sub-standard dogs and breeders on their register?

6. Can dogs be K.C. reg but still be a bad idea and is it possible to fake the papers?
I forgot to mention that she also said that their grandma had ‘retired’ and wasn’t with them any more. Also, in the UK, KC stands for the Kennel Club and ISDS is the international sheep dog society xx
To Miss B, I was asking in the start to try and figure out whether or not this was a puppy farmer, the reason I was asking about blue’s in particular was because she had set aside a higher price for them as if they WERE a ‘rare’ colour. I don’t have any preference on the patters or shades on my dog but I wanted to collect together as much information as was possible.
You have aided me in this endeavor and for that I thank you. But your assumptions are neither warranted or welcome. Even if I had no idea what so ever what I was dealing with, I’d have to ask questionS… That’s plural.

Nagesh answers:

I think i remember an earlier post from you. I’m surprised you are still considering them… You clearly value the colour more then you do the welfare of the animal and that is a shame.

You want to know something?

“Rare” colours do not get you special attention. They simply get you doubted, especially with such a well known breed as a border collie.

I have a red tri border collie and he is gorgeous. A very handsome and well bred dog by any standards. Other collies owners regard black and white as the only true colour and anything else is a fad (even though there have been red champions).

The general public do not believe he is a border collie. They always presume that he is a cross because “border collies are black and white”.

Therefore buying a border collie for colour only is ridiculous. It will not get you any positive attention if that is what you are seeking.

1. Does the fact that she has so many puppies on offer mean that she could be running a farm despite the parents being able to be seen?

Maybe, but not necessarily.

2. Could the fairly reasonable price be indicative of her trying to shift them quickly or is it just well known that you can’t really ask for more unless you can prove they are from champion bloodlines etc

The price is not reasonable. The bloodline and breeding ethos is none existent! It is an extortionate price.

3. Is it unsafe or unreasonable for her to request the deposit through cheque or is this fairly standard procedure?

I think it is suspicious. It implies to me she is working for someone else and that screams that it is a business above anything else.

4. Should I be suspicious that I have still not received my photo’s or am I worrying over nothing as she obviously has a lot of dogs on her hands?

You should have visited her already! Forget photographs!

5. If this IS a situation I should avoid, what’s the deal with the KC and ISDS reg? I thought the point of these organisations was that they don’t allow sub-standard dogs and breeders on their register?

The point of the KC and ISDS is to ensure pedigree. They take no responsibility for the quality of the breeder or the puppies, although they may act against improper breeding practises if they are proven.

6. Can dogs be K.C. Reg but still be a bad idea and is it possible to fake the papers?

KC and ISDS is not an indication of quality, just of pedigree. They need health tests.

Welcome to my Christmas + Hows yours?

Hey

I really cannot sleep at the moment and its Xmas tomorrow and i was wondering how this year is going to be for you guys and how you celebrate Christmas.

Here is my story:

Ok, well I’m 21 from the UK. Where i live there is no jobs at all, I’ve done a lot of voluntary work. My most recent was at a college near me for Children with Disabilities which ranged from mild Learning Difficulties to the more extreme Terrible Palsy. Because i don’t have a job, many assume I’m scum and not having a job is something I’m not proud of but the only job i can get is one which i cannot get too due to the public transport not running early enough so I’m stuck in some loop hole until something local comes up. At the moment, I have to have a car to get to work but i need to work to get a car. My last job was a few month back, I had to walk 5 miles to get to a destination then a 2 hour walk over hills (No roads/paths) to get to the actual job as where i worked was on the moors on the hills. Worked this job for around 2 month and i got paid around £30 for it in total and everyone who worked there was done over by this guy which the job center “told us about” then they laughed it off when i told them i got done over. I went to college but as i came out the crunch hit really hard and lots of companies closed and no one was taking on. It was difficult i guess but i knew people had it worse.

At home i live with my Dad and my Brother. My dad is now in his 50’s, has COPD (Life Threatening lung disease) hearing problems, 60 something % use of his leg and struggles to work and also has really bad depression which he will not leave the house. It was only last week i got him to finally go to the doctors after 3 years of persuading him. He is a great guy, he will give you his last penny and has worked since he was 15 until his work place closed down about 5 years ago. He now gets treated like dirt from the employment places.

The reason I’m putting this is because i don’t want people to jump to the guns quickly making assumptions. I’m not what you call a “Good Guy” but i guess i do my best and live my life for others.

My dads mother (My Granma) helps us when she can with money as our cupboards are pretty much always empty. Its horrible stuff really and i know a lot of you may relate to this.

Anyway, i never let things drag me down regardless of how low they have gone.. So i was in high spirits for Xmas. We have a small family who are not close so on Xmas day i Invited my little brother up who lives with my mom. My mom is at her boyfriends about 60 mile away so he was on his own although hes 19.

I give every penny to my dad for the bills and a little food just as my older brother does but this year, i decided I was going to order some food, maybe online.. a Turkey and cook a real Xmas dinner for my Dad and 2 of my brothers with the £50 a week i get from the benefit office (Which i am ashamed to say) and when i went to them, they told me because its Xmas they will be paying me on the 22nd of December due to not being open for Xmas.

On the 21st of December. I was looking for some recepies as I’m rather a good cook although it will be the first real dinner we’ve had so i wanted to make it special. I found some nice things and xmas was only 4 days away.

On the 22nd of December, I checked my account online and the money was not in. I decided I’d give it another day before contacting them just in case they made a mistake..

23rd of December comes and still nothing so i ring them, explain the situation.. what i was told by the staff at the Job Center about being paid early and they say i won’t be paid whilst the 3rd of January so i was completely gutted really. That was our Xmas over. I love the whole Xmas Spirit.. the Music, Coldness (weirdly enough) and even the Smell! but it was a real blow. We don’t normally have presents, when we was younger we did but since my parents split that went so i thought it would be nice to do the whole dinner thing for us 4.

This is my reality of Christmas this year and how the whole crunch has hit us. Its kind of awful but i know people have it just as bad. Anyway, good or bad, whats your Xmas going to be like this year? or are you in a similar situation to myself?

It would be nice to hear your story..

Just because mine hasn’t turned out as planned, still post your Xmas story for this or the past years.. It’ll be nice to read them and see how other people have, cope or even deal with it :p

Merry Christmas to you all! and have a wonderful new years!

If any of you are a little stressed out or fancy a chat.. just mail me and I’ll get back to you! I’ll be on here for a few hours 🙂

manwithaplancalleddan@yahoo.com

My name is not Dan by the way.. It was a moment of randomness 🙂 <3
Thanks 🙂 It'll work out someday for me. Who knows what fate has lined up (: but its nice to see people are good and doing nice tings. Happy Christmas to you! (:

Sandra asks…

Response from seller about a Craigslist ad for football tickets – is this a scam?!?

I responded to a seller’s ad on craigslist for some football tickets who was selling them (for what he said) at face value and he e-mailed this response back to me:

“Hi,

Thank you for your interest in my tickets.

Up for sale are (4) side by side tickets for $300 ($75 EACH) , including shipping.

YOU ARE GUARANTEED TO GET YOUR TICKETS ON TIME OR YOUR MONEY BACK!

I only ask for a quick payment so I can get you the tickets as quickly as possible.

I have recently moved to London, UK with work and I will miss the games. I’m not a broker I’m very well paid here and I’m not looking to make extra money using these tickets. We will use Buyer Protection to handle this transaction as they act like a 3rd party, just like Escrow.
Here is how Buyer Protection works:
1. Buyer and seller agree on the transaction terms and price.
2. Seller contacts Buyer Protection Center with the transaction details.
3. Buyer receives the transaction details and payment instructions from Buyer Protection Center by email.
4. Buyer deposits the payment to eBay agent and sends the payment details to Buyer Protection Center.
5. eBay center verifies payment from buyer and then will notify the seller to proceed with the shipping.
6. Buyer receives the tickets and has 3 days to inspect them. After the inspection period is over, the buyer must contact Buyer Protection Center with the result of the inspection. If the buyer refuses the tickets, the money is refunded to the buyer after the tracking number for the returning shipment is verified.
7. If the buyer keeps the tickets he must notify Buyer Protection Center to pay seller with the amount of money.
VERY IMPORTANT: After you send the money to the ebay agent he will deposit them into an escrow account until you get and verify the tickets.
Shipping will be done via fedex.

IF YOU WANT TO BUY THEM REPLY WITH:

FULL NAME:
SHIPPING ADDRESS

Thank you”

Does this sound like a scam? Has anyone ever fallen victim to a similar scam? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated!!

Nagesh answers:

It’s a typical Nigerian scam. Read the Craiglist scam warnings – NEVER buy from anyone you cannot meet face to face, never buy anything that involves shipping, etc

Ebay Buyer Protection does not work that way. You are only protected by Ebay for auctions listed EXCLUSIVELY on Ebay. You must win the auction and pay through your registered Paypal account. And if you don’t receive what you ordered, then you can file a dispute to get your money back. Ebay does not work with any auctions on Craigslist for any reason

Ebay does not have any escrow service

This guy is a scammer. DO NOT send your full name or address for any reason. There are no tickets

Oh, and nobody who lives in London says they live in ‘London, UK’ They say ‘London'[ or ‘London, England’
