Your Questions About Money Making Schemes From Home

Thomas asks…

How to make money from home? (PLEASE no survey links etc. crap)?

What are some good ways to make some money from home? BESIDES surveys and selling stuff from ebay.
Can I start a mini business? Any suggestions? I want to find the least complicated way to make money right now.
If I get a scam/spam link to some dumb survey again, I’ll delete your post.
What can I do to make money from youtube?

Nagesh answers:

There’s no such thing as a get-rich-quick scheme. Just do work.

George asks…

Can we sue actresses and other charity mongers who force you to give charity?

I keep getting cleverly pushed, used, solicited, forced into giving charity to Roman Catholics and I feel that movie acresses and sports stars are behind the scam. And they may be using pseudo morality or some other devious means to do it. I get dirty emails from some Adriana asking for horny sex and so on if I refuse to keep a Catholic woman in my house and provide for her and her children. Is there any law in the United States that can be stated to prevent anyone forcing you to give to charity even if its by any religious organization or rich movie industries behind it? I think Brazilian model Adriana and Jolie and such behind these horrible schemes. I am perfectly ok with them personally doing any amount of charity or giving all they have even or bringing the entire third world Roman Catholic slum people and keeping them in their private homes. But I feel they cannot force that on others in principle. Would any of you allow that if it was done to you?

Nagesh answers:

Why are you participating in schemes?

Of course it’s all a trick to get your money. People are making good jobs around trafficking some funds to some African babies and “utilizing” the rest for “administrative costs.”

Just don’t pay anybody. It’s as simple as that. On the street just keep walking. If it’s a phone or TV ad just say no. I’m not seeing your problem.

If it’s about stopping a predatory behavior, well… You can’t really do much about that. People are stupid sometimes. It’s been 20 something years and people still click on the “You’ve won a free laptop, click here now to claim your prize” ads.

James asks…

How come Windows defender never found any spyware or maleware from my computer even I had some?

I have a windows vista home premium computer.I allways noticed none of the time since i have this computer and it has built in microsoft software ‘windows defender’that i allways update too.but never noticed or it said that it found a spyware or maleware from my comuter and when i was suspicious about it i tried some different spyware software and they found few spyware-maleware from my computer.I am not sure if windows defender really working.

Nagesh answers:

Most of the above replies have validity; no single application does it all.
Securing Windows operating systems from Internet assault & increasing predation, is not a single application, or a suite: and it’s not a “one step- 10 second fix” that so many want.

It’s layers of protection, user habits, system configuration, real time protection; and most important, threat landscape awareness (because the internet is so fluid and dynamic, it changes almost hourly).

Stand alone suites (CareOne, McAfee, or Norton) give users ‘feel good’ security, and lull them into complacency, which often has very bad results.

Look through some of the suggested freeware here,
http://www.snapfiles.com/Freeware/security/fwsecuritytools.html
study up, and pick some of the frontline, real-time defenses. Create a restore point after each install, then run the system to verify that application’s ‘friendliness’ with your system before adding other applications.
Make selections based on your skill level & system’s other configurations…an application you can’t work with is of little use.
Generally speaking: as a system’s convenience, interactiveness, flexibility & complexity increase: security decreases.

Core defense applications might include (but not limited to):
Avast! (anti-virus);
Zone Alarm (firewall);
SpywareBlaster (snoopware prevention)
>>>The #1 defense against malware: Firefox, with ‘NoScript’ add-on.<< Internet Options> Privacy> Advanced:
here check ‘Override automatic….’; ‘Allow session cookies’; ‘Allow 1st party cookies’ & ‘Block 3rd Party Cookies’.
**
FIREFOX: Tools> Options> Privacy: Check ‘Accept Cookies from sites’
& Un-Check ‘Accept 3rd Party cookies’
Firefox add-on’s
Flashblock: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/433

>> “NoScript” for Firefox will stop a lot of these adware/spyware & hijackers; and is the single most important thing you can do to prevent most malware < tick ‘forbid ——-‘ &/or mark as ‘untrusted’.
(Ticking all may reduce interactive behavior; enable just enough to get what’s necessary to view the page)
***********
Rouge malware and server based spyware are becoming indisitnguishable & may cause multi-symptom effects on your system.
And worst of all, this spy/adware, records your clickstream & builds a profile of you with advertising conglomerate jackals.
Requires “Opt Out” and requires EVERY browser on EVERY machine be done…
Google here: http://www.google.com/privacy_ads.html
Yahoo here: http://info.yahoo.com/relevantads/
NAI garbage here: http://networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp

(List of 64 Yahoo! Co-conspirator advertisers they inflict on users are listed here: http://info.yahoo.com/privacy/us/yahoo/thirdparties/details.html)

When installing ANY new application, check the EULA for ‘Toolbars’ and/or other crud they try to slip past ya’.

Mark asks…

Any good online site you can work from home?

Looking for something a stay at home mom with computer, can do for work? Anyone now any good an legit sites? Thanks

Nagesh answers:

I am not a scammer, I have a profile on yahoo where I have answered several questions in the past. I promise this is not a scam!

I just started working with a company, an actual legitimate company, and I am so shocked by how much help I’m getting! I sell a medical discount program that is so desperately needed by people in this tough economy we’re facing! It’s a legitimate company, part of the BBB, and U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Anyway.. I am a full time college student, and at the rate I’m going, I’ll be able to fully pay for grad school by next year.

The average person in my position starts making 6 figures in about 2 years if they stick with the FREE training provided. This is NOT a get rich quick scheme, this is legitimate work, that really works in getting you to financial freedom!

I feel good about the ‘product’ I’m selling because there’s millions and millions of people who don’t have medical or dental insurance, and this is a VERY affordable discount program, that is actually accepted at a lot of doctor’s. I don’t even have to try.. I ask anyone I see how their health coverage is, and then just simply leave a card. I don’t even have to really try.

If you interested in hearing more please let me know. I have a website listed below and would love to set up an interview any time you’re ready.

Even if you’re just looking for the benefits program info, please contact me! This is a wonderful opportunity for the right person!

As far as the any kind of fee goes, I bought their start up kit which gives you 5 websites, an email system, and marketing stuff with brochures to give out. I looked at it as I would probably spend that much on a new suit and shoes for a new job anyway. I am so glad that I did too.. Like I said… I have extra money for college, without taking out any loans and I am about to begin my master’s program

www.FreedomAtHomeTeam.com/smiles for those interested in working with the company

www.EveryoneBenefits.com/smiles for those needing the medical and dental benefits.

Betty asks…

How can new moms make money?

I am about to give birth (any moment hopefully). Childcare in my area is about 60% of my income. I am debating whether its even worth returning to work. I really am looking for a stable way I can work from home. Any really good ideas?
And by the way, according to the county my husband and I make too much money to get financial assistance with childcare. They do not take into account that we pay close to $400 a month in student loans!!!

Nagesh answers:

My wife and I have really struggled with raising our son as we both have retail jobs. Also I have a ton of student loans to boot.

You could possibly sell Mary Kay or Avon. Maybe even pick up a paper route maybe open your own child care place. Don’t fall for those late night get rich quick schemes as you will lose quite a bit of money.

I don’t know what is available in your area but I am sure that if you seek you shall find extra income.

How doe’s a 13 year old make fast money?

I’m 13 year’s old and I am looking in the right direction to making some cash.
Doe’s anyone know of how I could make fast money, anyone?

Nagesh answers:

At 13 years old your options are limited…
Most business employers want you to be at least 16 years old.

My suggestions to you:

Make up flyers and pass them around in your neighborhood.
Offer to do whatever work it is you want to do, such as :

Computer work, Babysit, Clean Garages, Organize Cupboards, File Papers, Wash Cars, Mow Lawns, Pull Weeds, Tutor the neighbors kids, Walk Dogs, Dog sit, Clean the Pool, whatever…

Post first whatever it is you want to do or are good at …
You should keep your options open and make a decision after the persons call you instead of not giving them many reasons to call.

Say on the flyer you are a student and are available on Saturdays.

Unemployed i need to find ways for fast money?

Im unemployed and looking for a job im totally broke i dont have a car and i need to find ways to make fast money besides selling stuff or cleaning yards i tried it already any organizations or ways to earn money.

Nagesh answers:

The state job services says they have jobs it’s just jobs a lot of people aren’t qualified to do. Usually when you go there or to a temp agency you need to have your SS# and transportation so you’re at a loss unless you know someone who is already working and you can ride with them a short way when they go to work and then you’d have to find your way back home on the return. So look around in your neighborhood and choose places to apply to that are within walking distance. You didn’t say where you live so I guess we can’t suggest much if you live too far from stores. Wherever your parents work you might be able to get a short term summer job. Do you have a friend who could help you get around, like you could go where they are going? I know some people give plasma but you have to be healthy and well fed for that or you’ll get sick. Why not contact your minister at least to ask about their food bank (maybe they can leave food off for you). Maybe you have relatives who will take you in or loan you some money so you can get food stamps (or apply online). Sometimes you could barter, like doing volunteer work at the soup kitchen and that will at least feed you for the day. Try Subway too as you get a footlong sandwich per day there. Maybe you can help move furniture so apply at a furniture or moving and storage place. Maybe you could be a security guard at an apartment complex (sometimes they allow a studio apartment for their workers). Maybe you could apply at the food stamp office for further assistance. Contact Goodwill and maybe you can work one of their trailers. Or see if you can be a stocker or cashier at your grocery store.

How can I make money from home fast online?

I am looking to make some extra income as I am in college and don’t have time to work all day cause of my loaded schedule. Does anyone have ideas for making money from home?

Nagesh answers:

Hundred questions a day here like that. 99.9% seem to be selling software or getting your money to sign up for useless scams. 0.05 % are people who’s real jobs let them work from home from time to time; 0.05% are undecided. Be careful of the scammers about to answer.

If there were such jobs wouldn’t everyone be doing them?

Cue the scammers ….3….2….1…..

Be very careful with any of those “fast free easy money” deals you see. Many of them are scams. If making money were really that easy and fast we’d have all quit our jobs by now.

Betty asks…

How to make money for Christmas?

Does anyone know of any legit ways to make money online? I got laid off from work a few months ago. I am a single mommy and I am having a hard time buying my son something for Christmas. How can I raise up money really fast?

*PLEASE DO NOT LIST THINGS LIKE: CRAIGSLIST, EBAY, OR YARD SALES*
I already know that stuff.

Nagesh answers:

Try going to Goodwill to get something cheap but still good quality for your son. According to your profile, he’s still really young so he won’t know the difference between something brand new and gently used. Or, you can go to a church and explain your situation and ask if there are any toy drives going on.

Luckily at your son’s age you won’t need to get much to make him happy. Children can be thrilled at small things, just put some creativity into it! 🙂

Your Questions About Ways To Make Money Fast For Kids

Nancy asks…

What is a way a kid can earn money fast online?

I want to earn moeny but most of it is 13 and up and i’m too young, so tell a fast online way i can earn money free.

Nagesh answers:

If you want to make extra money you HAVE TO try this out. It has worked for me, my family, and friends.

If you have a computer and the internet (and an e-mail account), that’s all you need to make money at this website I found. It’s completely legitimate. They are an American company, but residents from all countries are welcome.

This website is the ONLY website I’ve found so far that actually pays you money for doing very little work.
All you do is fill out simple surveys and sign up for websites.
All you need is a valid address where they can send your monthly cheque.
I’ve only been with this program for a few months, but I already know that it works. I have received numerous cheques from them totalling well over $800.
I only spend a few hours on the site a month. This means that I earned about $20/hr for doing next to nothing. This IS a legitimate website with thousands of users who are earning money as well.

The reason I’m posting this is because I have an opportunity to earn even more money. If you sign up for the site and start earning money, I earn an additional 20% of whatever you made.

So here’s the link, give it a try. What do you have to lose, you don’t have to put in your credit card information or anything. Here’s the link….

You’re the minimum age the site accepts, so take advantage of it!

Laura asks…

What is the quickest way to make money?

I’m between ages 13-16 and my parents wont let me get a job. How else can i make big money fast.

Nagesh answers:

When i was 13 i made my first job. In migt be a problem now but then again i dont know becuase i dont go to your school. When i was at school you couldn’t get much from the snack or lunch lines. So i decided to go to the store with my parents and buy certain candy… Then i would resell them at school higher… But them in packages and you make more. If that doesn’t work… Try going to garage sales and buying little stuff there Really cheap and then resell it online… If you cant do that… Then sell stuff you already own but dont use anymore… If you cant do that… Try… Selling homework answers to other kids…. If that doesn’t work then try… Bigger allowance… Washing dishes doing laundry… If your parents say no then say… Mom i want more resposibility and it’ll teach me about the working world… Working to get paid…. If that wont work…. Illegal gambling at school or at home with poker nites… If your not good try to find a way to cheat … Lots of ways to make money there… Let me know if i helped.

Thomas asks…

What are some ways that a 15 year old girl can earn money?

I am 15 and I want to take horseback riding lessons. They are like 100 dollars a month or maybe even a little more. Well I really want a way to earn some money REALLY fast and that isn’t going to be TO hard. Please help! I really, really want to do this. Thank you all so much!

Nagesh answers:

Horses are expensive.

Call all the lesson barns in your area. Some are willing to let kids do barn chores in exchange for lessons.

Here’s other suggestions:
1) Babysitting
2) Yardwork
3) Dog walking
4) Pet sitting (lots of people need pet sitters over Christmas)

Good luck!

Mandy asks…

How can a kid make money really fast?

i am trying to get more money to buy an ipod touch and i need some way to make money fast! please help!!!

Nagesh answers:

Negotiate fees with your parents for extra chores around the house. Try to pick things they might hire a professional to do (like detail the car) and charge them half price. Ask your parents if you can clean the house each week instead of them or your housekeeper. Do your laundry and the dishes. This can be a weekly sum. Do the chores properly or your parents might not think it’s worth their money. Parents are sometimes more willing to help out if they know what your plan is, so share all the details with them.

Shovel snow: Go to every house in a good sized neighborhood charging 5 dollars per driveway, or 15 dollars a week for shoveling the snow. Do this every time it snows. Someone may pay you in advance for a month if they know you or like your work!

You can also pass out flyer’s and Business cards for people who need help advertising.

Mow lawns for your neighbors. You can make a lot of money, but it’s hard work and takes up a lot of Saturdays. Also consider the maintenance aspect in respect to the lawn mower itself – hours on motor, oil, spark plugs, blades if this is your parents mower. However, most parents will not care and just be thankful that you are out making money.

Babysitting is easy to do and many people can also consider it as practice and a way of gaining experience if they intend to get into the house and elderly care business. Babysitting is a less complex job as compared to others, and if you are lucky enough, they will end up being paid to study while watching some cute kid napping off in front of the television.

Hope i helped !

Mary asks…

How can I count money faster?

Usually I read the money amount in words on the bill. That is how I count money. However I have seen other people count money a lot faster. How can I count money faster? This includes coins and bills. I am actually a very young kid.

Nagesh answers:

People ask me this all the time.
I work with money all the time.

Ex: The 20’s
I count 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
When I get to the 5th bill – I know I have 100 dollars
You can count thousands really fast that way – try it

Same with 10’s. Don’t count them 10, 20, 30
Count them 1, 2, all the way to 10 and you have $100
Ditto for 5’s – 20 of them make $100
Dimes, the same. Count them 1,2,3 – 10 of them make $1.00

Your Questions About Make Money Quickly Uk

Thomas asks…

What’s the best company for recycling a mobile phone in the UK?

I have a Blackberry bold 9000 and a Nokia N95 that I would like to sell and I wanted to know which mobile phone recycling company offers the best money for phones. Thanks!

Nagesh answers:

Hi Knowitall

I agree with Ievamesk. I recently used http://www.phones4ever.com and they offered the best price for my phone and they paid me very quickly.

However if you have the time sell it on eBay.

Laura asks…

Out of all the medicine and law students, which percentage would you see are purely in it for the money?

Both are extremely competitive programmes to enter, and both have fantastic money in them. However, do you wonder if there are many people entering these professions because it is their vocation, or is it the financial aspect that attracts?

Nagesh answers:

Anyone in the UK who says you do medicine for the money isn’t a doctor. Trust me, I’ve been qualified for 10 years, and while I earn more than average, it isn’t as much as joe public thinks, and there are lots of jobs where you get better money a lot more quickly than medicine. We also have much higher overheads than others in a similar wage bracket due to exams, courses, membership fees for the GMC, BMA, Royal Colleges etc, medical indeminity insurance… The list goes on and on.

If you want money quickly, become an actuary or something like that.

Lisa asks…

What do you do when you can’t afford your education?

I’m heartbroken, no idea what to do. Any ideas?
How do you acquire LOADS of money as quickly as possible on your own?

Nagesh answers:

Contact your local citizens advice beareu (lol, cant spell it XD) and ask them what funding you are entitled to and where to get it. If you live within the UK and are under 25 you can get into contact with the princes trust to get funding. You can also get a student loan out to pay for your course and pay it back in installments when your earning over a certain amount (some companies do this oh so nice service which is really good) do some research online and contact the collage you want to enrol in and ask them if they can reccomend anything for you. If its a course that will defonately lead to a career or self employment, you will be very likely to get a scholorship or funding or a loan cause they know it will amount to something.

Hope this helps. =D

Jenny asks…

Please HELP! How much money do I need to pay for energy Efficiency C rating house and its commodities?

Good evening, it has been giving me a huge headache recently. Me and my girlfriend are planning to move into an apartment like this http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-to-rent/property-36930208.html
and we have no idea how much the taxes will be. Or even a better question, when you rent through agencies are taxes included? Because most of apartments we were looking through have energy efficiency rating C. We would keep the laptops (2) between 5-8 hours per day. And PS3 with a pretty large LED Smart TV on at least 4 hours per day. Washing machine would be used once per week. Stoves would be electrical. And how much would the water and council tax would be, say the average of general use?
I GREATLY appreciate your help and if possible please provide me with detailed information. We really want to move out quickly as possible and we are planning on having a budged of ~700pm. And we want to know how much money we would need in total to provide ourselves with all basic commodities. I gratefully appreciate the help because it is the information I most need at the time. I tried finding out through various different sites and stumbled upon no results. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR HELP and have a wonderful evening! Thanks! 🙂

Nagesh answers:

Council tax rates are online.:
http://www.voa.gov.uk/cti/InitS.asp?lcn=0

Band C for energy efficiency means that it’s pretty well-insulated. It’s HEATING that racks up the bills, not a couple of PCs and a game console.

Water depends on where you are, and/or how much you use.

You should be spending no more than 1/3 income on rent. If you want to enjoy it.

Susan asks…

Best online poker site in UK for beginners?

I’ve played tons of play money poker but want to try it for real-beginning at the lowest stakes, cash or sit ‘n’ go. What are the best sites to play on from England and how much do you need to deposit? Is it easy to deposit/withdraw money in these accounts and can you start with a small amount of money? Thanks.

Nagesh answers:

I would suggest to start with sit and gos because it’s harder to lose money quickly. You should just choose the site that offers the lowest stake games to start with because you will not be a winning player straight away and software quality is less important for casual play. I would suggest taking a look at http://nodepositpokerking.com/best-uk-sites.html for a good list of UK poker sites to start such as Sky Poker, 888 Poker, William Hill … The big advantage is also access to srategy articles and videos that can pretty much guarantee beating the low stake games. Whatever you do, don’t sign up to a site directly – use a referrer and you’ll get loads of benefits such as bonuses and rakeback so going direct is a huge rip-off.

Your Questions About Ideas To Make Money Fast

Sharon asks…

Any ideas to make fast capital for a small business?

I would like to start a business but first I need capital and don’t know how. All these places online tell you how to make money by means of businesses and stocks and stuff but no one really explains what to do when without any startup money. Any ideas? Thanks! Oh and by the way, I do not trust those offers where they say that you can make money by doing nothing at all like surfing the web, stuffing envelopes, etc. I cannot get a job because I am only 13.

Nagesh answers:

What you can do is look up on google the word ‘kidpreneur’ and see if there’s an office for that in your city.

Carol asks…

Any ideas how i can make money fast…..Am living in Germany.?

Am thinking of doing commercials, but i have no idea on where to start.

Nagesh answers:

Here’s what I did… I started selling Products from Home. Home Interior first and it was a slow start so I stopped. Then I got an idea…what sells fast? SEX. So I started selling adult novelties and gifts through home parties. Oh course you have to me 18 or older to attend , host or sell these items. My typical party is $500 to $1000 a night. So with 40% commission and company paid incentives and freebies to my customers that’s $200-$400 a night. Its all in what you put into it. Sell it full time earn more.. Part time less. But I have FUN at what I do and work when I want to. I even paid $0 for my kit to start. This is also something you can do in Germany. With 50% commission for overseas consultants.
This isn’t a sales gimmick just I believe this is the right fit for me. I wanted to contributed to my family without sacrificing my family time… You need to find the right fit for you and go for it.

We also started renting Hot Tubs for parties private and other wise. I have really enjoyed that too. These to projects seem to compliment each other.

David asks…

How can I make money (not a lot) quick?

I am saving up for a PS3. I have $60 right now from allowance. I need a way to make $600 before Christmas. I am 14, but I can’t get a kob now cuz im in school. I had $600 until I bought a Wii (btw, bad choice, I gaven’t played it in like 3 months). Now don’t tell me that I shouldn’t get one cuz i’ve wanted one since a year before it came out, but my dad talked me into buying a Wii. Please give me suggestions for making money fast, and my dad is willing to talk with me about working for him. Please help, thx!

Nagesh answers:

Here’s a good list:

-wash neighbor’s car (don’t scratch it!)
-extra chores in the house?
-babysit (If you’re good with kids)
-sell your Wii
-sell old stuff in the house w/ your parents permission on a site like ebay or craigslist

I wouldn’t go for those online surveys and such. Most are fake and require many hoops to jump. They might just take your info and such – make sure to check the bbb.org site to see if it’s legitimate. Protect yourself.

Thomas asks…

I need a loan fast, My redit really sucks!, I will pay any rate, even 75%?

I need to buy christmas presents for my wife and my kid. I need money fast.

Nagesh answers:

Can’t you just explain to your family your finances? Our family is very open about what we can afford and what we can’t. I guess it’s because one year all my sister and I got was a package of fun chapstick because mom just moved into a new place.

Your wife will certainly understand and if you don’t have $$ for christmas, will you have the $$ to pay back the loan?

Not trying to bash you, we’re in the same situation, we’re selling stuff thats no longer needed to come up with the $$ for some presents because we’re not putting ourselves that farther in debt for material things, not worth it. 🙂

Sharon asks…

How to convince your mom to let you go away?

How to convince your mom to let you go away?

I was invited to go away down south in a few months. My mom does not think that it is a great idea, my mom was also invited but she says she doesn’t have the money to go. She said if she went it would not be a vacation for her self. Although I am very responsable she thinks not. I did not argue with her as I want to act mature to see where it gets me. I hhave been wanting to go down south since I was 11 and it has always been my dream. I am now 15 and I am capable of taking care of myself and making good choices and desicions. What are some things I can say to her to get her to let me go and for herself to go, because I want it to be an enjoyable experience for everyone. Also money is a problem, I may have been saving up money to go but each month I need to pay bills so it goes down just like everyones money does. I currently have $300.00 saved and by the end of the month I will have $240.00 so what are some ways to save money fast and quick. I have been selling things that I dont use to get this money. If anyone has any answer at all please answer

Thanks,
Jen (:

Nagesh answers:

This is a hard question to answer because since you are 15 you really didn’t give us enough information to provide a good answer. First I would ask you where you will be staying when you go South? Will you be staying with family or with friends that are your own age or with your friends family? Being a mother myself it’s sometimes difficult letting your kids be on their own, especially with all the things you see on the news that might happen to you while you’re away. I would say that even though it may not be a vacation for her your mom should consider coming with you so that you can go and she can feel more comfortable about the whole situation. There is really nothing you can say to your mom that is going to help, but acting maturely like you have by not nagging her about it is a definite plus in your corner. About the money. Do you know how much money you are going to need for your vacation? I would say make a budget so that you can come up with a total of what it’s going to take for expenses. To earn money you can possibly babysit for friends and family, or if you are a boy you can possibly cut and weed yards, paint fences, or clean up people’s garages. I would say to make a flyer on your computer offering your services to your neighbors and friends with your phone number on it if you can and post it or put it in your neighbors mailboxes. If not, have your mom let her friends know what you can do for them to make some money. Dog sitting or walking your neighbors dogs is also a great way to make money. You might ask your mom if you can have a garage sale and gather items that your mother, aunts, grandparents might not want but that you can sell. Hope this helps you 🙂

Donna asks…

How can a 14 year old make money fast?

I’m 14 and I need some money fast. I can’t baby sit or walk dogs or mow lawns. I can’t do anything that involves going outside because my parents thinks its dangerous around our neighborhood. My parents won’t give me money for chores either. What options do I have?

Nagesh answers:

First let me say it sounds like you have very loving parents, have you tried making things or selling candy out your house to the hood kids in your hood? Maybe start a video game contest or something and charge a cover fee or something. Think what are you good at? Can you offer to do homework or take notes for other kids or sell your notes or something hope this helps?

Your Questions About Quick Ways To Make Money For College Students

David asks…

Idea for some quick cash, I need advice/suggestions?

My friends, family, and classmates say I give the best massages. I’m only a college student but due to financial difficulties, I’m in need of some spending money just for gas and food. People have been telling me that I should get paid but I always joked about doing so. I actually want to. I’ve read and being a massuse is different from a massage therapist, as one only provides relaxation while the therapist is a professional for relaxation as well as for injuries, improving the body etc.
Bottom line: Can I make this a small business (flyers, word of mouth, inexpensive) or should I just find some other way? I do need the money, but it would be nice to help everyone around campus relax a little.

Nagesh answers:

My advice/suggestion: go for word of mouth and beyond that, keep your initial investment low. It will cost you less than 2 pennies to print up some of those tear-off phone number adverts that you’ve seen all over on bulletin boards and that’s including the push-pin (your time with the scissors to slice them into easy tear-offs will be more valuable than that, of course). Post them everywhere you’ve seen anything like that and you’ll likely get a few phone calls; if your random customers are happy, then you’ll get more word of mouth advertisement free.

Also consider whether your interest in massage is more than superficial. Professional training could give you fresh inspiration and sharpen your innate talent. Look around your local area for teachers; you might well be able to pursue massage education in addition to college.

And yes, you could make it a small business, but get some income going from informal channels before you start drawing up business plans 🙂

Ruth asks…

Relationship Question… what is your opinion?

Hi, my fiance and I are madly in love, we’ve been together for two years.

I am a student and money is tite, so for an entire year I did not eat lunch or breakfast so that I could save enough money to provide her with little surprises throughout the days (gifts, food, candies, jewlery, etc.) The reason I did this is because she comes from an extremely sheltered and overly protective home where her parents have shown her no affection at all, and she never had these surprises, so I wanted to be the one to give her everything she never had.

The problem is that my fiance is very over emotional and stubborn. When we argue, she will not budge unless I give the most heart warming apology imagineable, then maybe she will consider doing the same. I can not talk to her about her ‘flaws’ (though she has none outside of her overwhelmingly quick temper) or else she will because very very upset and I am viewed as this horrible person.

One time, we got in an argument and I wanted to surprise her by coming to her college campus. My car was broke, so I walked 8 miles to see her, where she eventually slapped me and even hit me across the face with a shoe..

Another time, during her finals, I had offered to drive forty five minutes in the snow to bring her a cappucino and nice chocolates because she was falling asleep and her parents would not let her out of the house to get something to wake up. She went on to call me a “fucking child” and screamed at me for a half hour for proposing such an offer.

Now, I can’t say i’m an angel by any means, but I can not talk to my fiance without her becoming upset and when she does, she does not stop. I wish she did not have her temper, and she has started going to a therapist and has worked hard on it, but it has gotten to the point that it is overwhelming.

I love her to death, but I can only take so much if she does not change. I wont leave her, but staying will make me very unhappy the way she is.

What is your opinion??

Nagesh answers:

You are madly in love, not your fiance, she is just mad. If you want to go through life being a whipping boy, that is up to you. If you want respect, respect yourself enough to leave. Never let anyone hit, mentally abuse you, or treat you with disrespect. Love yourself first and then you can get into a healthy relationship with someone who respects you.

Richard asks…

Should I choose the cheaper, all-right college or my expensive dream college?

Hi, I really need some college advice and I’m hoping you can give me some help in any way! Here’s the thing: I just got accepted into my dream school, Emory. I honestly didn’t think I would, so I planned on going to my not-so-dream school (but with quite the good education), Auburn, for more than half the price (and with scholarship!) But now being accepted to my dream school, I’m just drooling over the prospect of going there and having one of my life dreams fulfilled. Then I take a look at the price and I’m plummeting down to earth. In four years, the total cost will be over $250,000. I didn’t receive a scholarship, nor did I receive generous financial aid so I have no idea what I could do after college.
Of course, there are student loans, but with the career I’m planning to go into I won’t make enough money to pay it off in time, most likely. I don’t want to rely on my parents to pay my debts and I certainly don’t want to end up in the poor house. So should I forget about my dream school and the awesome career plan I wanted to pursue at Emory? Because that’s a lot of money just for an undergraduate degree. The deadline for acceptance is coming up quick and I have no idea if I should accept. Should I pay the price for my dream or just settle?

Thank you so much!

Nagesh answers:

Honestly, If I was in your shoes I would go with the cheaper school. Especially if it amounts to the same degree. Most employers care more about GPA and what your degree is than where you go to school. You should think of your college as what will give you your highest rate of return. In this case, it may be to go to Auburn instead of Emory as it is much cheaper to go there and you will have less student loans to pay off in the future. I know this is a very hard decision to make but if I were in your shoes that is what I would do! Hope this helps.

Mandy asks…

Ligitimate on-line jobs?

Im currently a 1st year college student studying in the Phillipines. I would like to find a ligitimate online job, but all i come across are scames and get rich quick scemes requiring me to pay. Im looking for a job that actually requires work, not some make money fast promo. Due to the “culture” within this country, most jobs only hire students who are college graduates (even some restraunt attendents), I already have a part time job that doesnt require me to be a college grad, but its not enough to pay my way through college (not to mention board and rent >.<).

Im not looking for a high paying job, minimum wage ($7.00per hr) is gud for me. and nothing that requires me to pay for anything ( you dont pay your employer to work). If anyone could help, it’d be much apriciated.

PS: Preferably a job that pays through paypal.

Nagesh answers:

If you want to avoid the online job scams you can start your own home based online business for nothing but the amount you make will depend on your commitment & effort.

Laura asks…

Help with trying to go college and financial aid for a career change for a single mother of 2 children?

I am a 39yr old registered dental assistant in the state of Tennessee. I was recently laid off in March and have been getting unemployment for the time being. I am the parent of a 2yr old and a 16yr old. I need to keep a home for us and my current car. The job market is pretty much saturated with new dental assistant graduates. Most practices want new and fresh out of school assistants that they can mold into the perfect assistant for their practice and not a seasoned assistant of 7 yrs like I me. they just assume that there isn’t any ( and I know this isn’t a real word but… ” teachability ” in an older assistant. I have all kinds of certifications and qualifications under my belt such as Coronal Polishing, Sealant Application, EKG monitoring, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Assistant, Radiology
Phlebotomy / Intravenous Sedation,CPR Certified, and Nitrous Oxide Monitoring, but all that can be both good and bad because the last place I sent my resume to said that I had too many qualifications and did not want to approach me because they were sure that my salary requirements would probably be way more than they were willing to pay. And the only way that I know that info is that I sent a resume to a practice that one of the student that I trained and she was there when they pulled my resume off the fax machine. She didn’t want them to know that she knew me because she had just gotten hired there and therefore didn’t want to seem like she was trying to pull strings. But the point I’m making is if that was what they thought of my resume, then I can just imagine what the rest of the offices I sent the resume is thinking. Also in Memphis (although I have looked and there are not many of them available but …) the minimum wage jobs will not get me anything close to what I need to support my family and definitely will not cove the cost of childcare or health insurance. To be blunt, I would just be working to pay for the childcare itself. In any case, I have always wanted to go back school but never had the nerve or the time. Since I am laid off and unemployment is covering almost half of my expenses, I feel like this is the best time to do so. When I went to Dental assisting school, it was a quick fix for when I was laid off from a warehouse job 8 yrs ago but now I need to do something real that has the potential to make some real money! I have been told that if I go to a 2 or 4 yr college there is a possibility that I can get financial aid and still get unemployment. I was also told that some loans or grants ( I don’t know which ) but they have said you sometimes can apply for more that you need to offset the cost of maintaining a place to stay. Not to get too personal but my rent is $700 a month and I have a car note of $450. a month and not to mention car insurance that I cannot drop of $165 a month. I have reluctantly applied and was approved for food stamps and Tenn-care health insurance. I also have my unemployment payments, plus child support and SSI Disability Insurance( that is paid for by my child’s father) all together is a total around $1100 a month. Now I’m sure that whatever loans or grants (If there is such a thing as the type I am inquiring about) won’t cover all expenses, but anything can help in this situation. If only I could have enough extra to cover the rent or the car note. I don’t have any help and will not have anywhere to go if I loose my place. I have excellent credit but with no employment I am not sure if that would change my outcome. What is the process for applying for these types of loans and is there help for single mother in the state of Tennessee? I need help soon. I only have enough money to live off of for the next 3 and a half months or so.. I need an outlet fast. Please help with any suggestions that you may have. Thank you!

Nagesh answers:

Well, you have several different issues to address:

1) Unemployment. Make sure you work with your unemployment office and get approval BEFORE you enroll in any educational program. In many states, they won’t continue your benefits while you are in school unless it is a program that they approved ahead of time. It’s also possible that they may be able to pay for part or all of the training, so it’s definitely worth talking to them first.

2) Overqualification: You don’t have to list all of your qualifications on your resume. If you’re willing to work for less money, just list the basics. Or address the problem in your cover letter, indicating that you are willing to accept an entry level position, and can offer them more experience and more skill for the same amount of money as a newbie. (Then negotiate for a raise later on when they love you and can’t do without you).

3)Financial Aid for School: You apply for federal student aid by completing the FAFSA (the Free Application for Federal Student Aid) online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. This application will determine your eligibility for federal grants and loans, and is often also used as the basis for determining if you are eligible for state grants and school scholarships. The FAFSA uses your previous year’s tax return to determine your income level, so make sure the schools you are considering are aware that you are now unemployed and have a big change in that income.
If you are a full time student, you will probably be eligible for $9,500 per year in student loans, and possibly for up to $5,500 in a Pell grant. You may also be eligible for other aid from your state or your college.

4) Living Expense Money: Student aid is intended for educational expenses. It is sent directly to your school, where it is first applied to your school’s charges such as tuition and fees. At most private colleges and for-profit career schools, you will need all of your funding to pay these charges. However, if you are attending a low cost school such as a community college, you may have more aid than is needed to cover the charges. If that is the case, then the overage will be “refunded” back to you in the form of a check or debit card that can be used for other educational expenses such as books or other supplies. It is not intended for personal expenses and is not supposed to be used for things like rent or car payments, though it is unlikely that anyone will check up on you to see what you spend it on. It won’t be enough to live on, though, and in most cases, the money is a loan, not a grant, so you will have to repay it with interest after you graduate.

Hope that helps. Good Luck!

Your Questions About Money Making Schemes From Home

David asks…

What is a legitimate, lucrative at home business?

I’m looking to start my own home based business, but don’t want to be part of a pyramid scheme. I’m a mom to be and the extra income would be very helpful to my family. Not to mention, if the business does well enough, I could quit my full-time job and be a stay at home mom and save on day care!

Nagesh answers:

There are plenty legitamate and lucrative home based businesses out there. Some businesses are designed for solely customer acquisition based, (no MLM plan) while other businesses have a design for both recruitment and customer acquisition based. This just means getting customers. It’s funny because many people refer companies to a MLM or a pyramid scheme without looking into the entire documentation of how the business model is. I laugh at so many misconceptions I’ve heard over the years with Pyramid accusations, MLM accusations on a variety of different companies. Even companies that are claiming not to be involved in an MLM scheme or “pyramid”. Let’s face it, where do YOU work now? Is it for a small business owner, how about a large corporation, or even inbetween? Unless your jobless, guess what, your part of a pyramid scheme. Here’s why: The American business model is build the same way! Welcome to Corporate America! Get a peice of paper out. Take any corporation or small business, let’s use a corporation as an example. On the top of your paper, draw a circle. This circle represents the Owner or partnership owners, Then write two circles under that (President/ CEO) and the Vice President. Write a few more circles under that and you have corporate management positions. A few circles under that and you have store managers, a few circles under that and you have store department managers, a few circles under that and you have sales reps. Each level on this pyramid scale is a different level of income. The bottom people doing all the dirty work so that the position above them gets paid so that the position above them gets paid and so on and so on. What people don’t realize that but unless it’s a one man show no hired help, no independent representatives, everyone works in a pyramid! Even if it is a one man show, your still feeding Uncle Sam who didn’t work for you at all. But sits on top of the biggest pyramid scheme of them all collecting money from everyone. So are you ready to quit your day job yet? I wouldn’t until your set financially. Like I tell my kids, don’t bite the hand that feeds you! The point is regardless if it’s an MLM, Networking or even down to a shoe store, everything is part of a pyramid. Key thing that if you don’t want to do an MLM scheme and not recruit, then find a home based business where it’s not mandatory to recruit for other people to do what your doing, and their is a compensation plan that is design for non recruitment. Understand to achieve the amount of money that you desire, will take a little bit longer to obtain then getting a few people to help you acquire customers. But the company should give you a choice. If you choose to recruit people, then the income you make from their customers should not be taken away from that persons income at all. It should be equal value. If you decide to open up your own business, and are against MLM schemes, then don’t be a hypocrite and hire someone to work for you, because guess what, you just started your own MLM scheme. It’s a fact of life. You can slice and dice it anyway you want, but like I said, unless your jobless then your part of a pyramid scheme yourself right now. That’s just how it is. Your whole working career has been part of a pyramid.
You don’t want an MLM, network marketing or pyramid, start your own daycare, but don’t hire anyone or you just started a pyramid once again. Also you’ll be limited to how many kids you can take in. Your own kids count as a head count. So if your licensed for say 6, you have 2 kids per say, you can only take in 4.
Unless you want to keep inside your safety zone and not step out of your box and venture into something that can be very rewarding and have your own business regardless of what type of home based business (they’re all pyramid structures, even jobs are) then don’t quit your day job, even though it’s a pyramid structure as well. Don’t mean to be harsh , but it’s the facts of life.
Good Luck to you though!

Joseph asks…

What if the feds just gave everyone money to pay off their home out of their social security?

In other words – give people that are underwater plenty to cover their home, but upon retirement – make their benefits smaller

This would give them years to financially recover and save more than the average joe since they know they will struggle in retirement?

Opinions – negative or positive accepted

Nagesh answers:

There are a multitude of problems with your suggestion. The Democrats have fought tooth and nail to keep Social Security from being privatized, that is having you “own” the deposits you have made to Social Security. Nancy Pelosi and her ilk have made a pact where they take your money, spend it as they wish, with a “promise” to pay you back something in retirement. There is no Social Security trust fund. The money has been spent. Like Rick Perry alludes to, it is a Ponzi scheme where you pay into a system which pays benefits to current recipients and future generations (if there’s enough of them and they earn enough) pay for your benefits when you retire. There is no money to pay you back what you paid into Social Security.

Nancy Pelosi and her ilk do not believe you have the intelligence to handle the money you paid into Social Security so will never give it to you until you qualify for it.

Also, please explain why people who were good with their money and never became underwater get to sit by and watch all of those who were bad with their money, got themselves underwater and get to do what they want with this handout? Why should people who were bad with their money get more options with how to spend it?

Nope, Social Security was designed to be a safety net, a safety net you propose to rip to shreds with your proposal. It won’t happen.

Thomas asks…

Is there a catch with job postings that claim you can work at home on your computer and get paid well?

I was looking through job websites and I’ve noticed alot more of these type of jobs offered than normal jobs. They say that you can make hundreds, even thousands a day by just inputing data or taking surveys. What’s the catch? Are they schemes? If they are, then why would job websites post these?

Nagesh answers:

I think MSN may be pretty reputable as far as a source, if you look on their Money section, they have an article about real work at home jobs and some of these are for surveys

Paul asks…

Would like to work from home looking for something that doesn’t require any investment?

I have a degree in business administration but having problems getting work. So I would like to know what options there may be from home. Not any of those stupid fill out survey stuff, real work.

Nagesh answers:

You’ll get lots of scammers answering here, don’t fall prey. But, at the same time, please don’t listen to the people saying they are ALL SCAMS. They aren’t ALL scams, just MOST of them are!

I’m a single mom of 2 who’s tried over 15 opportunities over 3 years so I have some great info for you on how to find a LEGIT way to work at home plus a list of top 10 work at home scams!

People are looking for work from home and the biggest problem is they don’t understand that there really are NO WORK AT HOME JOBS. You won’t find hourly pay from home. You can look forever, you’ll never find it. The only way to earn an income from home is to find a legit home business.

Small home businesses have increased in the last 5 years by about 200%. People are starting to realize that if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. The best home businesses to start are those with a proven plan in place like Mary Kay however if you’re like me, you’re not interested in pushing products.

Legit home businesses should have a small cost involved but be careful, all the scams will be charging too so know the business! Talk to a REAL person and ask questions. Less than $500 to start is reasonable and I’d stay away from those wanting $1k – $5k. It doesn’t cost that much to start a home business so don’t pay it. If you’re coming across places that say free then RUN the other way! They never are in the end!

After trying 15 things, I now work about 25 hours per week for a well known and respected company w/ amazing credentials. This company actually helps keep Americans Safe by offering Medical and Dental plans as well as things like roadside assistance, credit repair and National Child ID in partnership with the FBI. We also help Americans save money on things they need and buy every day. The average American household saves $400 a month using these plans.

Anyway, I started with this company 3 years ago and started making $500 a month within 3 months. That income has increased now to $900 a week. No, it’s not $10,000 a day like those scams advertise but this isn’t a get rich quick scheme. If that’s what you are looking for you should think again! The best part is they have 401(k), direct deposit and a health plan from day one.

With this company there’s NO products to sell or store, NO hard selling or pushing, NO Bugging Friends and Family, NO cold calling, NO home parties and NO telemarketing! That was VERY important to me. Figure out what you DON’T want to do as well and make sure you find a company that fits with that!

I work as part of a team with other reps in the company. I had at least 5 of their home phone #’s the day I started. This is a big one: Make sure that you’re going to have others to work with. Don’t find out you just paid a start up cost and you will be trained by someone in a call center who has NO REAL idea what you are actually supposed to do. Make sure you are trained by other reps just like you, and ask for names and numbers! If they won’t give them, walk away!

I was scared at first because there are lots of scams, but this company’s credentials FAR SURPASSED any other I had ever seen. They are members of the National Association of Dental Plans and the US Chamber of Commerce and have been featured in Parent Magazine, Time Magazine, on 60 Minutes and many other places. They are partnered with the FBI on one of their plans that helps American’s protect their kids. This company has an “A” RATING WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU! These are some of the types of national credentials you need to be looking for during your search and make sure they have at C or better rating with the BBB.

My point here is to tell you, YES! There actually are legit work at home options so press forward! You will find them eventually!

AVOID these top 10 work at home scams:

10. Craft Assembly
9. Medical Billing
8. Email/Rebate Processing
7. “A List of Companies Looking for Home workers!”
6. “Just pay for and take this class first” Then we’ll give or find you a job!
5. Envelope Stuffing
4. “Turn Your Computer Into a Money-Making Machine!”
3. Pyramid Schemes (this is NOT the same as Multi-Level Marketing MLM)
2. Chain Letters/Emails
1. Typing At Home / Data Entry (The biggest scam out there. 100% of them are scams!)

As for those of you who say: ”I want to work from home but I don’t want to have to pay for anything”. Well, that’s great! But it’s not realistic. Let’s be honest, there is no such thing as a free lunch. If it is a true honest legitimate home business, you need to expect to pay a little something. Mr. Walt Disney didn’t start the Disney empire “without paying for anything”. Neither did Mr. Sam Walton, owner of Wal-Mart.

Good luck in your search!

Robert asks…

Why are people so put off my direct sale opportunities?

I’m just curious to try and understand this, but why are so many people so put off or questionable about direct sales or home-business opportunities? I understand that there are those out there they do things with dishonest gain, but why does it give a black eye to legitimate companies that do have ethics and stuff? Is it because of cost to start up? I am just trying to understand.

Nagesh answers:

I have a network marketing business of my own and have done a lot of reading over the last couple of years, about selling psychology and so on.

The basic thing is this: Think about when you walk into a, let’s say, department store. Do you like the guy to come straight up to you and shove products in your face and use all different aggressive sales techniques to pry your money away from you and into his cash register?

Or do you prefer to cruise around the store and browse without pressure. If you see something you like, you may decide to buy it.

PEOPLE HATE TO BE SOLD TO. THEY LIKE TO BUY.

Network marketing has a false reputation of being a pyramid scheme, simply because people’s minds are closed to the concept, even though they don’t realise that the company they work for, the church they go to, have the same pyramidical (real word?) heirarchy structure, with the guy at the top making more money than each level below (CEO, then management, then workers).

Sometimes they just aren’t looking for anything like that, they are happy the way they are. They don’t want to have to try and talk people into buying things from them, which is fair enough I say.
