Your Questions About Ways To Make Money Fast For College Students

Betty asks…

Do you know any other ways to earn money faster? I’m saving for college?

I’m a 2nd year college student and I am working as a part-time promoter. Is there any other ways to earn money faster? I really need it for my tuition fee.

Nagesh answers:

Do some research and look into a sales internship. Sales is a great way to make money if you don’t mind work and putting yourself out there. Just remember ambition without integrity is dangerous.

I also cut the hair of about 15 of the guys in my dorm for pizza, beer, and money. It was a nice way to save up. I also worked in the computer lab so I could get paid to study. It was only $7 an hour, but better than sitting at home studying, not making anything. Normally you don’t need to actually do much work in a computer lab.

John asks…

Easiest and best ways to saving money as a college student?

As a college student I would like to start saving now or do anything. etc. but how can i go about doing so? Where do I start? What are some of the initial steps needed to be taken? What are some of the fastest safest ways? etc…

Nagesh answers:

A bank certificate deposit that is federally insured is the
safest. You may want to take some risk since you are
so young and invest in a mutual fund possibly a growth
fund and remember it is for long term and there will be market
ups and downs. Long term the stock market should be the
best investment. Look at morningstar, an investment company
that rates mustual funds etc.. Try and get a no load fund a
mutual fund that charges no commission and a tiny per centage of the funds money, i mean really small is taken out
for managment fees. Fidelity and vanguard are two well known
and highly respected mutual funds you may want to consider

Sandy asks…

My dream is to finish grad school and start a collection of rental properties, is this possible?

I’m going to finish school in the near future. For the past 2 years I have formulated ways to borrow money from lender’s that don’t credit checks (by then end of school I’ll have 30k in loans and TONS of medical bills), just to buy cheap houses.. rehab fast and rent to college students.

How can I do this without having a stellar income? Hard money lenders are few and far that will deal in WV. I’d really like to start/raise our family here. Low crime, excellent schooling and it’s very diverse because of the university.
I’ve met these people that own 100s of rental homes and live in palace’s. How do these people start off?

Nagesh answers:

Owing just one or two rental houses is a pain. But that is where you start. Look for a long time and figure out the market. Buy your first one or two with big positive cash flows (the rent has to take care of the payments, taxes, insurance, repairs, and vacancies).

The rest are much easier. When you own ten rent houses and one is vacant you don’t really even stress out but when you have one and it is vacant you go nuts.

Daniel asks…

How can I start saving money?

I don’t want to keep it in a bank account. I’m a college student and I spend way too much money and I need to stop! any tips?

Nagesh answers:

All of the above suggestions are great. I save my change in an old wine jug. The thing is four gallons and halfway full already!
I also live on a budget. I don’t eat fast food, but I cook at home instead. When it’s time to go grocery shopping, I hit up farmers markets and discount stores first.
Don’t forget about thrift stores. There’s also some really great savings tips I’ve found at the link I’ve left.
